Don't fret guys. It took all of 5 min to disconnect the active sound in my M3.

Best mod I did for the car yet.

Fast but not that fast. Definitely a great car for the city, some highway exit to exit runs and some track fun. I reckon a good tune should improve those numbers by quite a bit.

Maybe it's the same soundtrack in the active sound. BMW could sell new sounds as an accessory! What are you feeling like today? How bout the 7series series soundtrack in the morning since I want to sleep longer on my way into work. On the way home maybe the csl soundtrack.
You joke but I believe Renault or someone similar has it where in the car you can choose what car sounds you want - For example you can choose between having a f1 car or a v8 ect. Completely bonkers

That exhaust sounds SO much better than my F80

Although I think my M3 sounds better with 3,500 miles on it now than it did when it was new. Maybe she's still growing on me

ehh, easy pass for me. This car looks border-line ugly to me. Looks like an incomplete shoe. Im sure its fun to drive, but, looking at it for me, is not fun. Some dude stated that it made him think regarding his M6?!?! Grab the M6 and run with it, miles over this M2! Again...this is only my opinion, and not stepping on anybody's toes here.

Here's some more sound from inside the car. I spent the day driving it yesterday at Thermal.

I posted it on the ft86club forums. Here's the link to the post. It has my overall thoughts along with some pictures.

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...2&postcount=98

For those who don't care to read the whole thing, I think the car absolutely sublime. My only REAL gripe with the car are the seats. In high-G sustained cornering, they just don't have the same lateral support as the seats found in the M3 and M4. They're still comfortable, but in a high performance environment, they fall a bit short in my opinion.

That's definitely a bummer, considering its a 50k car that is so focused on driver engagement and enjoyment, and they chose to use the cheaper seats. I personally would have been totally fine if they increased the MSRP a couple thousand and the car came with the M3/4 seats.

Also, the lack of adjustable settings (steering, gearbox, suspension, etc) is a little disappointing. However, everything automatically changes depending on what setting you're in (comfort, sport, sport +). That being said, it's not that big of a deal, and I understand why they didn't include it.

All in all, if you really saw everything underneath the skin that's been added over the standard M235i, you'd see that the M2 is easily worth the money and much more. Especially when you consider a fully loaded M235i with an LSD costs more than a fully loaded M2 at MSRP pricing (USD).

I'm very aware of aftermarket solutions, having run quite a few of them myself. I try to refrain from including aftermarket solutions when giving my impression though, as it's all semantics.

Just like when somebody says Car A can beat Car B with X, Y, and Z. Any car can really beat any other car if you've got the money to do it.

At the end of the day, the fact is it's a $50k M car that, for reasons I totally understand, was held back in a few areas. It's still a huge bargain for the money. In fact, if the car came with the seats found in the M3/M4, I'd probably be willing to say it's pretty much a 100% perfect car.

But it doesn't, so I'm giving my honest input on it.

I'd rather be as honest as possible, than just blow smoke. A lot of the other people there, you could tell had very little experience in a track environment and were biased from the start. We drove the TTS and CLA45 AMG in comparison, and a lot of the people there just instantly said every single thing about both cars are garbage; probably because that's what they think the instructors wanted to hear.

You can tell the track experience was minimal too, considering 3 different people in my group almost drove the car off the track and into a ditch. (You can actually hear it in the video I posted on the radio) But I digress.

Awesome thanks! Good read! I enjoyed your honest opinion. You're lucky that you got to see BSM, AW and LBB all in the same setting. What color looked the best in your opinion?

Our garage is currently packed with Blue cars, so I'm pretty biased towards blue

In all seriousness, if I had to choose. I think I'd go with Long Beach Blue or Mineral Gray. I've had 2 black cars, which are a nightmare to keep clean, so I couldn't go that route, and white is a little too bland for me on this car. It looks great, but it doesn't pop enough.

Oddly enough, if I were choosing a color for an F80 M3, I'd have to choose between white and gray.

Nice stable! Definitely need to add an LBB M2.
