Another Stage 2 Option?
Hey guys,
While looking around online at turbo upgrade options (though I'm pretty much set on a BW EFR turbo, exact size tbd) I came across this TPC (Turbo Parts Canada) set-up: https://www.turbopartscanada.ca/prod...5-turbocharger The company seems to have excellent customer service feedback, but not too much in the way of documented results for this particular option. Anyone have experience with TPC, or thoughts on this option (very attractive price, especially for US customers given the exchange rate to Canadian dollars)? |

Does anyone know if the Dinan turbo work with the stock tune for emissions reasons? Dinan says the turbo is California legal, which is why I want to get it. I plan on getting the Carbahn tune to go with it but probably have to flash back to stock when it gets tested, so I was wondering if the turbo works with stock tune when I need to flash it back to get it smog tested.

I think you’d be fine. The Dinan turbo is only a mild upgrade to the stock turbo. |

Ok great thanks. I'll probably get it then just because it's one of the few (if not only) California legal turbos.

All this does go out the window through if you have a non dinan tune.

The issue was maybe having to remove the Carbahn tune when doing smog testing.

In my continuing search for a turbo upgrade. I came across two more turbo's that I do not think have been mentioned on this thread. They are in late stages of development, and should be available "soon" according to the manufacture.
Shuenk N55+ (Comparable to a Stage 1 turbo) Frankenturbo F55 (Stage 2/3) Not much information is available on these yet, but they do have a facebook group for the R&D process: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2448073655432005 The biggest thing is, the owner of the company is claiming the pricing on the N55+ will be "around $1500" whereas the F55 will be close to $2000. This is incredibly affordable if they can stand up performance-wise to the competition. The PWG version is being tested now, and I've been told that the EWG version will quickly follow. I'll update this thread as I have more information. |

Also found some posts on another forum regarding the N54 version that was just a straight up bash fest. Even Vargus got involved (not surprising). A lot of it seems unwarranted, TBH. Just people gate-keeping. Being that they are not yet released, I don't think it's fair to pass judgement on a small company trying to do some good for the N55 community. |

Hey guys.. I know this has been discussed from other guys in the past. Regarding the PS2, what sort of gains with 93 or e40/50 would we get? Like to hear it you guys before I jump in. I'm bm3 stage 2+ at the moment

Assuming you have the supporting mods and you have the fuelling to support it, E40/E50 is enough octane to max out ps2 and hit 550 whp/550 wtq at sea level.
