State of Affairs 2 months in
Just a followup 2 months in after owning my M2C.
For those curious, here is my previous thread: https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1560624 Config: - 6MT - LBB - Sunroof - Exec Package - Black Rims Mods/Changes: - Full screen Carplay - M Performance Spoiler - M Performance Rear Diffuser - IND CF Shift Knob - Painted the bumper black - Full front Xpel Ultimate - Rear Reflector Delete - Side Reflector Delete Purchased But not Installed: - Drivers side key delete (need a weekend for this) - Red M buttons (this is probably too complicated for me to bother with, I may just get someone to do this that has already gone through the pain of disconnecting the airbag) Pros: - Still love the handling a ton. - Power is on point. This won't be winning any drag races against a Hellcat but it holds its own. - After cleaning up the rear end with mods, I'm VERY satisfied with the way this car looks. LOVE it. - The sounds this car makes are AMAZING. I actually think the OG M2 sound is super super super overrated. This car pops and crackles appropriately. It's not overly loud and obnoxious. - Seats are very comfortable Cons: - The infotainment layout is still garbage. I never use anything other than CarPlay, iDrive is crap. The UI is meh but the UX is atrocious. - Wireless charger is useless. I don't even bother. It either overheats the phone or charges so slow that its not worth tucking my phone away under the arm rest. - No sunglasses holder... - Gas mileage is horrendous even when driving "nice" (avging 18) Obligatory pics: Last edited by aerokubectl; 01-23-2019 at 12:45 PM.. |

I, too, can't see the pics.
Mod list sounds good and pretty similar to what I'll do when I get mine. It's a shame the M buttons require so much work.

Careful when installing the key delete. I accidentally pulled out my door handle and it was a bit difficult to get back in. Try not to pull too hard on the door handle when u have the lock out (or don't pull on it at all if at all possible).

I always wonder when people hate on iDrive what infotainment systems they have used that are so superior. I find iDrive is one of the better ones out there as it's far superior to anything from domestics (Chrysler's Uconnect is really good), Japanese, or Koreans.

I'm hoping car manufacturers get into bigger integrations with CarPlay and Android Auto. Car manufacturers all suck at Infotainments(mostly because its ALWAYS outsourced). Tesla is probably at the top of the list for "worst". |

I already forgot about it the first week when using the satnav/map, when the missus started to touch the screen and she liked it a lot, better than iDrive/buttons. But come on we already have three iPads overhere hanging around .... Until now I never used it. Cheers Robin |

I didn't even know it was a touchscreen until I owned the car for about a week. Came from an E92 M3. Still won't be touching the screen.

The bumper? Did you mean the exhaust? Did you also paint the exhaust tips?

the only time I've touched the screen was to rearrange the tiles, which is a nice feature. Other than that, I don't like fingerprints on the screen so I only use the dial. I also have an e93, and I like the simplicity of that system as well as the map.
