I don't care for the GC look but I'd love to see a 4 door M2. Smaller packaging but convenience of access to the back seat.

Wow i think BMW is heading in the wrong direction with this one... no need for a smaller 3 series IMO

They need a rival for A3 Sedan and CLA.
M235i should be pretty interesting with x- drive.
I hope we'll see a very good design too!

Not a fan...and we definitely DO NOT need another four door version of an otherwise great car that is the M2...there are plenty of other sedans (or as I like to call them, "family cars") available including other disparaging, perverted four door versions of other formerly great cars as well (i.e. Panamera)...

When you consider that the 3 series is now the size of an E39 5 series, there probably is a need for a four door smaller variation, be it a 2 or a 1 or maybe a 2.5.

I had a 430GC loaner last week, and it drove fine and I liked it*, except for the gun slit-sized rear window that forced me to use the camera in order to back up. I'm old fashioned - I like to see where I'm going.

* - I liked it in the sense that it is a nice car, but I'd rather have a six cylinder.

Sometimes you need to take one for the team, for the greater good. I think next time the expectation is that you run it off the road. For the brand sir, FOR THE BRAND!

A lot of m2 buyers cross shop the RS3 so there's obviously a market for small 4 door version.

This. Both the A3 and CLA easily outsell the 2 Series in North America. You can't fault BMW for trying to sell more cars.

Think everybody needs to realize that 2 doors are dying faster than 3rd pedals. If BMW has to make more 4 doors (read SUV like) so they can still make real "cars", and a few true coupe's more power to them.

Remember the M series exists because BMW sells a lot of their regular generic vehicles. The more generic vehicles they sell the more money they have to invest in performance models. When brands slump they start focusing more on selling volume than performance models. I hope this car is a success for them.
