Smaller spare tire on rear as temporary solution: risk of LSD damage ?

I got a flat on my rear right stock wheel and without thinking I used a 245/40/18 with 35 psi on the rear right side as a spare and left the stock 265/35/19 with 31psi on the left side. Drove about 18miles at various speeds to get the wheel fixed! All in all have I caused any damage to the lsd!? Thanks! Picture shows difference in diameter!!

It's unlikely that you did any damage in one day. But if you continue to drive this setup and stress the components, you may damage the lsd. Did you just buy the wrong size by accident? Consider returning it and buying the right side. Alternatively, if your other rear tire is worn out, consider getting two new rear tires vy here should be no more than 1/8" difference in diameter between the L/R tires.

I had a spare that I used as a back up and didn't think twice in using it on the rear!!! I already fixed the flax and using the correct size tire!! Just wondering if such a difference in diameter could affect the lsd or is the lsd designed to compensate rotation speed due to my mistake and adjust rotation for the time I drove at various speeds!!!

I would assume the LSD could take care of the difference in tire size for a limited amount of time without damage.

You can always put a front on the rear and the spare on the front. Rolling diameter should be the same.

Front and rear rolling diameters are not the same: 245/35/19 and 265/35/19.

18 miles shouldn't be a problem at all. If you went out and did track days like that where that diff really gets a workout you might have an issue.

I'm not sure how the E-Diff works and how it compensates or adjusts but I do know that with the car OFF it is not an LSD...

Not sure how it would then damage the LSD in your scenario as I do not know how the electronics would react or when the lockup is changed.

Edit:

Interesting..

I doubt you damaged it in 18 miles of driving with a 2.4% diameter difference.
