M2C 6MT Throttle Auto Rev Match Off = Sport+
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com On my F80 when you set the throttle to Sport + it turns off auto rev match. On my 17 M2 it only turned it off when you went to DSC fully off. On the M2C how do you turn off the auto rev match? I prefer the M2 logic since I like it for lazy street driving but want it off for the track (DSC fully off). |

Only way to turn off rev match is to turn off DSC fully off. Unlike M3/M4, simply switching to Sport+ isn't sufficient.

Bimmerlink will solve this and also disable anti-stall and hill assist.
As a guy who enjoys a perfect heel-toe rev match, I am surprised at how much I enjoy using the auto rev match feature. |

I think BMW now see this as a safety measure for their higher powered vehicles : Rev-match enabled in Sport+ beginning July 2018 production? UPDATE: Confirmed https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1533646 |

Look at Porsche, Paul Walker's daughter sued Porsche because the vehicle her dad died in didn't implement stability control because - street legal, hyper car - even thought it wasn't required at the time.. Porsche settled with her to avoid bad publicity.. The Court of Public opinion is sometimes more powerful than the legal channels.. Companies err on the side of safety to avoid any loss.. A conglomerate like BMW has lawyers watching lawyer so they don't go broke.. Lawyer win, enthusiast lose.. Until they tune it.. |

I agree. I've been rev-matching downshifts for over 40 years, and it is really neat since you can still do your own part with it working also. It's too bad they simply didn't make if configurable in iDrive. Stupid actually. I'd like to have it active with DSC off -- on an autocross course with a turn-around cone, that 2-1 perfectly rev-matched downshift would be incredible. We have local courses at an airport and often use a turnaround cone. Barreling into the braking zone at 50-60mph, threshold braking and then heavy trailbraking on turn-in, down to 20mph or so, to setup the perfect apex around cone is a very, very busy driver moment to have to fit in the 2-1 downshift. Oh well, they chose it like it is for some unknown reason.

I love rev-matching or heel toe downshifting on a casual drive or at the track. However, the auto rev-match is so good that sometimes I want to try it out at the track especially if I'm going for a PB. In my M4, I used to turn DSC off and use Sport (instead of Sport+) since it still had auto rev match at those times when I wanted to have the perfect lap. I drive DSC off on or off the street pretty much the whole time unless weather condition is pretty bad so I don't mind the current behavior but as you said having the option to turn on auto rev match on-demand while DSC is off would be great. |

So through Bimmercode, do we know what the auto-rev options will be? For instance can you have DSC on and have auto-rev off, but then be able to turn it on again when you want it?

No as i understand with limited bimmercode coding you just disable all clutch postion related items full stop.
Rev match, clutch to start, hill assist, anti stall etc disabled permanently in all modes. I'll be using full esys for coding on mine so maybe there'll be more options there... |

I'll say I absolutely love auto-rev match, although it's made me a "better driver" it's also given way to some lazy driving habits LOL
