Those photos are a good example of how the lighter gold wheels look larger than the black ones. I think the same is true for car color, black looks smaller than white.

The M2 sure looks good in black. If only I was willing to take on the challenge of maintaining a black car. Looks so good when clean but a pain to keep clean

It does look good in black. If I lived in a cooler climate I might consider black even though the maintenance is high. In a hot climate black is like driving in a rolling oven.
