How is every post not about the US getting a smaller muffler with no particulate filter?

I thought that issue was a big deal or was it just current M2 owners doing the complaining?

Thanks for the great info! Are all the M2C performance parts interchangeable with the current M2 (besides the MPE, obviously)?

MR., is this correct. The new 788M wheels weigh 3.5kg less than the stock 437M? The M performance article states the 763M wheels are 3.2kg less than the 437M. There seems to be in error, doubt the 788M wheels are lighter than the 763M wheels.

Smart of BMW to not put "Competition" on all the carbon fiber accessories.. That way they can be interchangeable with the other 2 series lines and not appear as they're biting.. #GiveMeThemPartNumbers #LegoM

I don't think US getting a smaller muffler. I think we are getting the same muffler just without the filter. It wouldn't be cost effective to design and produce 4 different mufflers for the same car (2 for the stock exhaust and 2 for the MPE).

The roof here is done quite well. I like what I see on a pre-production car.

MR
Are you also getting the CF bonnet (hood) and side panels (fenders)? If so would like to see a video of those being installed as well.
Only if the price is right...

Almost all... Exhaust, engine cover, front splitter and mirror caps don't fit.

The way he answered the question seems otherwise. He says the reason the muffler is so big is because of the particulate filter. So it sounds like it is built into the muffler. So essentially they are building 4 different mufflers(with/without fillter), regardless of size.

Correct... Bigger muffler is only for EU.

Can you sneak in a question about the X3M? Timeline for release and how quickly will a Competition version of it arrive after initial launch?

Maybe, but if the weight difference between the 437M and 763M is 3.2kg and between the 788M and 763M is 3.5kg than that would mean the 788M wheels are 0.3kg heavier than the stock 437M wheels. Would appreciate it if you could get further clarification on this if Bjoern is still around. Thanks

Are the ducts in the fenders functional or a "styling element?"

Yes. It is just a rear section. Further weight loss will made by changing out mid pipe.

The particulate filter may also be the reason so many people don't like the sound and the US muffler will sound different (better?).

The press release says they air outlets, so they not fake.
