Seats that put you "in the proper orientation to the cockpit". Could this mean that they corrected the "crooked" seat issue?

Not that I ever noticed it as I came from a 2 series, I just know it's been brought up.

HS got my first vote with BSM as runner-up. But the more I see HS, the more I start favoring BSM. I keep trying to like it, but am either indifferent or don't. Going to make up my mind once video reviews are out, but that seems like an eternity from now.

at the 1:30 mark... our product trainer Ede specifically references that the old motor " is designated - powered by BMW M ..meaning.. a modified BMW engine... " and " the new motor is designated ... BMW M Power ... this is now a BMW M developed engine ..... optimized for the BMW M2 competition.. " as they open the hood to show that the engine cover is emblazoned M Power



it's this kind of marketing spin that makes me say.. why.. why you gotta talk down the old model to sell the new one?

More like mock everyone that complained about it being an M lacking M mirrors. "Look... we put your beloved mirrors on it!"

I'm personally not a mirrors guy. I go more for the sounds and driving feel. Seriously thinking about picking up an M2 but the S55 chainsaw is a turn off.

I find it quite humorous... so many people saying.... " I am underwhelmed... it doesn't look like silver... .. maybe we have to see it outdoors... oh here is a photo when it's outdoors.. but it's cloudy.. maybe we have to see it in the bright sun.... etc...

And the same conversations happen regarding THREE colors.
LBB - which most people generally like in all light
SO- (personally looks dull to me on cloudy days)
HS - (personally it is pretty much the same color as AW to me)

What it comes down to.. is whether one wants a changeling/shapeshifting sort of three stage color that really isn't the same depending on where it is.. versus strong colors like San Marino Blue, Carbon Black, Tanzanite, and straight colors like AW, BSM , MG, etc which still look for the most part the same color all the time.

Personally.. I don't want my car to look one color in bright sun... ... and a different color on a cloudy day..

I want my car to look the same way all time. With a color like SO... if someone asks you what color your car is.. it becomes a conversation.. well... on some days it's orange.. but on other days... it's sorta bronze... and when it gets dirty...

The whole mirrors discussion just makes me laugh. Like it's not an M car if it doesn't have a type of mirror that was only introduced 2 M generations ago.
Since when has the M driving experience been about mirrors? Or any cosmetic feature for that matter?
I personally couldn't care less what mirrors the car has as long as they work and don't look stupid (regular M2 mirrors don't).

If so, I'm sold on that alone! I hated the digital gauges in the M2 I drove and if the Comp has analog, I'm in!

I mean, technically it's true. The original M2 has an N55 with some parts changed by M to suit their needs while the S55 is an engine developed from the beginning by M. I didn't read that so much as a slight against the N55 (which I have had in multiple cars and am a big fan of) and more an explanation of why the two engines have different wording on their engine cover.

Remember that some of what we were told in initial M2 marketing materials (closed deck block, etc.) turned out to be false. The M2's N55B30T0 is a standard M2 with baffled oil pan, new oil drain pump, exhaust manifold, intake along with forged crankshaft, connecting rods, and different piston rings. It's a pretty extensive upgrade over a standard N55, for sure, but the engine was first an N55 and then it was upgraded by M for its new higher power output and made better suited for life at high speeds and high cornering G in the M2 so what they said is true.
