Stop-Sale Recall? Rear tail light bracket issue (service code 00 82 18)

I was about to pick up my M2C tomorrow, but BMW just issued a stop-sale and my car is affected so says my sales guy. Apparently it's due to some tail-light bracket problem.

I checked on BMW's recall site with the VIN and no open recalls are listed (even has today's date of last updated). Anyone hear anything on this?

I just checked myBMW and I'm seeing:

Service Code: 00 82 18

Any way to tell what that means? No other information or links were shown.

Edit:

- I typed my VIN into the BMW.ca recall section and it showed no notices.
- I then called BMW Canada, no additional information given. They recommended calling my local dealer.
- Local dealer said it was a recall on the owners manual, something about incorrect information regarding winter tires. I'm waiting for an email to clarify.

Weird that you were told something different. How is BMW so inconsistent at these sort of things?

I did call BMW directly and they did confirm that the tail light is the issue (despite their site not showing it). They said to just keep in touch with my dealership and they have no other info.

Interesting. My car is sitting at port here in the states but have heard nothing of a delay. As of yesterday it was still scheduled to be delivered to the dealership Friday.

Rear tail light bracket issue. No idea on details - I emailed my service manager to see what he knows.

I'll let you guys know asap but it's got to be pretty serious for BMW to not release my car. Thing that sucks is I did my credit app, had them mount winter tires I shipped there, and had them install the carbon spoiler. It was ready for pick up and then they got the news lol. Definitely will be a recall.

It's not showing yet. I called BMW Recall Center and they looked up my future car's VIN and confirmed what my sales rep said. I'm really close with everyone at my dealership (worked there for 8 years) so I'll get the scoop soon.

Do you really think it will be 3 to 4 weeks to North Texas? Everything I've read in the packages is 6-8 weeks to west coast and 8-10 weeks to the west coast. Since we're in the middle, I was assuming at least 6 weeks.

Any quantitative evidence to the contrary?

Is the rear reflector the one we're talking about here or is this the TAILLIGHT?

I can't get the bulletin/memo. If someone else can from their dealer, great. BMW Recall Center just mentioned its a problem with the tail light and deferred me to my dealer.
