So adjustable dampers now? Why the hell has not BMW mentioned this in the press release? It's a totally new thing, exclusive to the M2, and no words about it? This is pretty weird.
The owner's manual says: "SPORT+: Consistently sporty driving with optimized chassis and suspension and adjusted drivetrain." Oh, by the way, thanks for sharing the info and pix, MR. |

My guess is the M2 is a suspension that has a soft and firm damper setting but is otherwise passive. The M3 is adaptive and adjusts to the road conditions... in addition to firmness... which is far better for handling and responsiveness. Many people will say the beauty of the M3 adaptive suspension is its impact on handling and not, necessarily, the impact on ride firmness (although it does that too).

Haha, all the way from the salesppl in their dealerships to M-ppl at a world premiere, no one seems to know anything about the cars...just like one salesman told me lastyear
"M235I has a trippleturbo". The suspension is prob like in the 1M(like we have discussed many times) Yes, there is no sound-deadning so ASD may still not be used. I would not waste time to futher investigate what he said. Lets just pretend like he never answered these questions... Thanks MR for your effort |

Thankyou for your impressions and pics.
Do you know if the manual transmission has rpm shift lights in the instrument display and if they can be adjusted? |

So.., here are some impressions after my stay at the Brussels Salon yesterday night :
First of all : mixed feelings! Impressed ? Definitly not... Why ? Perhaps because after all we have already seen and heart here, I still expected that little bit more... I think much is in the way/point of view, you look at it. IMO a three-quarter and low point front view is the most attractive way to admire. For me the LLB is a bit fierce, not bad, but not my cup of tea. A Mineral Grey 116 near it confirmed once again I made the right choice. I'll try to post a picture of the MG in that same light condition later. And yes these light conditions were very bad. Too much cool white and bright spotlights, so, terrible for a realistic color approach. Up to me, the front is succesfull, good looking, splendid after all. The air inlets.., huge, but not disturbing. Just the plastic coverings give a cheap impression. IMO that black plastic will attract less attention on MG and SB. Same remark could be made for the side air vents on the front wings. The rear, and especially the bumper gives me a kind of bombastic, swollen, let's say even a disproportionated feeling. Again all depends on the point of view you are looking from. Perpendicular from the side it gives you that blown up impression. But the hips on the other hand make that rear end really looking good again, and indeed they are subtle. That diffusor, as already pointed bij MR., that cheap plastic needs to be replaced by the Performance carbon accessory. As to the interior : more space compared to my 135i coupé, and that's a good thing. And familiar indeed. The blue stitchings IMHO should be an even better monotony breaker of the black interior on the MG. My conclusion, compared to the M4, as there stood one besides, is that the M4 shows better body proportions, probably due to a larger dimension. Disappointed ? Not at all. After the 135i, it was/is the logical successor as for my daily use a bigger and 20K€ more expensive M4 is not an option. My wife drives the Audi S5, so there is no need. So far, for me the most important now will be the performance side of that engine. |

This is a very good write-up and a refreshing change from the constantly regurgitated stuff on the M2 that's all over the web at the moment. Thank you for this Pol !

These photos really made me thinking of LBB as the color to choose, so very interesting how much difference there is depending on the right lighting conditions... |

Hmm good question like the Orange then Red LEDs on the outer ring of the RPM display, cant see them but another M car trait that should be there IMO yes. Anyone else conclusive thoughts, LED shift lights present and correct or missing?

I think the M4 is Azurite Black.. Tanz would appear a more intense blue in that kind of light.
LBB is a cool color (seen the M2 in person at BMWNA) I'd either go LBB or BSM for an M2.
