In the driver's defense, the car's bulbousness does require 2 spots.

Maybe it's just me, but I always feel like taking up 2 spaces lessens the risk of dings while raising the risk of getting keyed. So practically speaking it's a wash, which just leaves ethics as the only deciding factor in my mind.
Then again, I drive an M2, i guess that is the type of thing someone like me would say. |

I was parking at the Home Depot one time and was trying to beck into a space but needed more room to maneuver so I ended up between two spaces. I couldn't fix it though until this guy in front of me that pulled out moved so a sat there will my engine on and he wouldn't move his car out from in front of me and just kept staring at me.
Then this old man blocking me started screaming at me that I was taking two spaces. I told him that I was just waiting for him to move so I could adjust to take one space. He says he didn't believe me. I told him if I'm lying then why have I not shut my engine off and exited the car, I'm clearly waiting for him to move. He said he didn't believe me and that if he sees me parked here again he would key my car. At that point I almost told him he didn't have the sack to do it and if he wanted to he could do it with my keys right now.... but instead I just said "sir, why are you acting this way, I'm not lying to you" and he replied with "Because I'm crazy!" and peeled out of the parkinglot. |

Only a tool would take up 2 parking spaces, regardless of the car they drive.
Park further away, in a single space, or drive a different car and park closer in a single space. |

I have a disabled placard due to multiple heart surgeries so that usually gets me a single space all to myself.
The only time ive ever been challenged was when i pulled up in my riced out BRZ and some lady yelled at me until i pulled up my shirt to show that my chest looks like i've been cut in half 3 times, she promptly turned red and walked away. |

I always make sure to park my car between the lines and people seem to be respectful. I was worried initially, but it's just a car. I think parking like a jackass brings unwanted scrutiny from the people that feel like it's their duty to make a point.

I have to revive this thread so I can vent. My work day starts earlier than most in my building and because of this, for the most part, I park in one of the closest spots. Lately there has been a pickup truck parked in the closest spot with 1/4 of the truck hanging over into the spot behind it. So they are blocking the spot I usually park in.
I do not know why, but this infuriates me. There are plenty of open spots, but that fact that this jack-off thinks they are so special they have to take up the 2 closest places. If they are so worried about their vehicle go park out in the middle where no one will park. I will never understand some peoples mentalities. Steps off soap box...
