OEM sunshade

Does anyone else have this? I just bought one and you can't really install or remove it without moving the mirror. I can't believe that BMW would make it this way and it almost makes me believe that there was a change or something and I don't have the right one. Please let me know if you have any experience with this.

I have one. Mine is a two series shade. Fits fine with the mirror being no problem.

I've been using the same onw since my E46M3. Usually there is a notch in the shade where the mirror is.

I have the Covercraft UVS100, which is the same one but without the BMW logo across it. I have no problems with getting it around the mirror or positioning it at all.

Mine fits great, but I do rub the idrive screen every time I pull it down. They probably sent you one for a bigger car

Nice. Part of me wanted the blue one when I ordered mine. And sometimes I still wonder if I'd like it better. Because my favorite colors are grey and blue (my car is mineral grey). But I went with the galaxy sparkle version.

Edit: see my follow-up post, I was able to confirm that part # 82-11-0-443-851 fits my car.

I'm in the same boat.

I originally ordered part # 82-11-2-458-090 based on ShopBMWUSA's recommendation for my 2020 comp, but found it doesn't fit around the mirror or the camera bulge. The dealership then sent me part # 82-11-0-443-851 to try, but found it is too wide.

I'm sending the second one back tomorrow and will see what the dealership says, but based on my last interaction, they seem as clueless as I am.

I can't comment on the OEM one from the Amazon link, but those who purchased one, can you tell us how well it is made, by whom and how well it fits?

For sure , the Covercraft one is really well built, tight/snug fit around the rear view mirror and windshield edges, barely leaves any visible light through. Plus, it has multiple protective layers as I can tell it keeps my car double digits cooler, it's sturdy (not flimsy in any way).

If you live in a hot box like AZ or TX, Covercrraft will serve you very well and will last for a long time. I paid 70 gold coins directly from the manufacturer website (they emailed me a coupon for free shipping).

Quite pleased with Covercraft.

I posted a picture of the OEM one (which Amazon is selling) earlier in the link. Mine is several years old now and has held up well. BMW doesn’t say who makes their OEM products. The OEM product is not flimsy and is quite sturdy.

Perhaps the BMW one, but the Covercraft UVS100 has two different part numbers for the 1-series and 2-series shades.

I had a UVS100 for my 135i. I sold it and bought a new UVS100 for my M2. That said, they may be very close in size (I never tried it).

If you guys go with Covercraft, the promo code "FREESHIP" that I used years ago still works. Free shipping on your order.

10-4!

Well, looks like the Covercraft is the one to go for, BMW branded or not!
