Maybe if you were bumped from a '20 order to a '21 they might be helping you out but that's not usual for BMW finance to go outside of the published rates.
Scroll into the details for models and you see the M2 in there.

I spoke to my CA on THU of last week and he assured me the .9% rate. I placed my order back in early May right before the ED cutoff and was told they locked my rate at .9%.

I am guessing it was the model year bump...didn't you start with a MY20?

Yea, at the time he had allocations (which we came to the conclusion was for a 2020) which then got switched to a 2021.

You all are making me nervous that they're gonna try to get fresh with me and change it up!

Just ask to confirm again and get it in writing. MY21 with 0.9% is unheard of at this stage, so you getting it is fantastic!

I am not casting shadow on the 0.9% it could well be possible in current scenario. but how are they locking the rate on a car loan few months in advance without delivering the car? my loan and rate were locked like 2 weeks before ED along with first monthly payment date 1 month or so later.

The irony is that I wanted to take ED since 2011. Never was able to line it up. I was finally close to doing it and boom RONA and the program gets killed.

Good news for those of you with aspirations of doing ED. Germany is now accepting negative COVID-19 tests as an exception to having to quarantine for 14 days. As tests are now more readily available that should mean you can go get your cars (assuming a negative test of course). Latest update July 10th now allows travel from the USA.

Great news! Provided one tests negative right before flying, of course!

This is encouraging news, thank you for sharing!

Have you seen anywhere that mentions Non-essential travel? I interpreted this document as Essential Travel only, due to the below information from the German Ministry of Interior (link below).

Taking this new document and the below information into account, I would expect that a) Essential travel from risk areas can avoid quarantine with a test and b) Non-essential travel from risk areas is still not allowed (i.e. European Delivery). However, this may open up non-essential travel WITH a negative test. Which would be ideal!

What restrictions apply to air and sea travel outside of the European Union?

https://www.bmi.bund.de/SharedDocs/f...97140bodyText3

On 30 June 2020, the EU member states agreed on the Council Recommendation on the temporary restriction on non-essential travel into the EU and the possible lifting of such restriction (Council document 9208/20). According to this recommendation, member states intend to lift, in a coordinated and gradual way, the temporary restriction of non-essential travel into the EU for residents of certain third countries.

[Goes on to list the countries that the USA is not on]

For all persons residing in a third country that is not included in the above list, the current restrictions on travel continue to apply, i.e. these persons may enter Germany only if they serve in an important role or if there is an imperative need for their travel.

I kind of read the site to say that the negative test exempts non-essential travel. It lists okay countries, then says those outside those can only enter for imperative travel, then further carves out the negative test exemption. I also see the infection rate threshold as 50/100k. I think it used to be 15 or less. So, they may have raised that as well.

Based on the below link (dated 7/9), seems like marshall834's interpretation of the RKI document is correct:

"Entry for the sole purpose of a visit or for tourist reasons is therefore still not possible."

Agree with marshall834 and Buchloe_Burkard , reading through things I see no exemptions for US citizens. I personally feel that the probability of Germany allowing US citizens in by September is very low. With the US reported cases growing higher daily, it feels unlikely they will loosen their restrictions. I have started to talk with my CA about Plan B delivery options.

That's a bummer, sorry for getting your hopes up then. I see a few air routes to Europe opening up again so I'm wondering if there would be hope for September.

No worries! I'm hopeful this will lead to some sort of change for leisure travel from the States if we test negative. Fingers crossed...

I updated the front page Travel FAQ with this information - good to have in there to help clarify questions on it.

I'll also update the Travel FAQ every two weeks based on the EU List that's released every two weeks. I'll also include updated Infection Rates (but you can check out for yourself daily via the links provided).

Although, would it be easier if I create a new thread on travel restrictions? Or just keep it here to keep everything in one place?

Yes, that would be great. However, the issue now is that apparently it's taking days, (and in some cases, weeks) to get the test results back because there are so many people being tested. That will never work for the 48 hour deal.

Exactly! I just went in and got tested for an event I am going to. They say the testing labs are swamped and on average, expect a 7 business day turnaround.

Alright, I decided to push my delivery date back so now I'm scheduled for September 26th. For now I'm going to hope that we somehow turn things around in the US and I can get over to Europe. However I'm going to keep an eye on the situation and will get it shipped home whenever I give up the tiny bit of hope I have left!
