That's just silly. The Merc is rolling on a 60 treadwear tire and the Cayman is on 220.
Nice to see the cars in action but the results mean absolutely nothing. On the same tire it would likely be the Cayman, closely followed by the CS and significantly slower Merc. |

Those 718 GTS 4.0 in M/T config with addition of a DDC suspension control unit could make me switch..
The GT4 is nice and better on track but I want to have fun 100% of when I drive the car not be waiting for the next track event and think about wear/mileage and all on a "GT" car.. I know a guy who baught low miles GT4 and he already knows when he's going to sell it based on the miles he puts on it, I understand why one would do this but find it so boring, I want to drive my cars to the ground, have things break and live the full experience.

It seemed like the tires were cold with how much the cars were slipping. You need to get a good 2 laps in before starting the hot lap in order to get heat into the tires.

More fun and predictability usually does not go in pair with more grip unless your a super driver and know very well the car.

Yes, throw a PDK and some Cup2 tires on the GTS and it's a different video. . . faster or slower, I really do not care.
I know a lot of people do on this AND the Porsche forums, but a few track seconds one way or the other has never influenced me personally in a purchase decision. . . I do not go to the track and, even if I did, I'd be the guy on right trying to have fun and stay alive at the same time. Pretty sure I would experience similar level of enjoyment, albeit a different driving experience in the GTS vs M2C . . . and, yes, traction control fully engaged. ///AVM |

I drove Cayman GTS previous gen right after driving 911 991.2 gts and this was exactly how I was in a cayman. The 911 felt far more planted and didn't exhibit these cayman traits. 911 was definitely a better car.

As we are both here on this forum, we already know the car inside out and purely want to see the car getting driven like it should on the race track Guess you can say we are the niche crowd.

Anyone feel like the driver was holding back on the m2 as well? I'm not sure what mode or TC/ESC settings he had but it seems like he could've been pulling harder/earlier in some turns idk maybe it was because of grip but I'm not sure.

I took that to be high levels of predictable grip from the MPSCs and avoiding going over the limit with the R Comps. It could also be driver style. Although the Cayman looked very twitchy in comparison with P Zeroes. I assume the same driver?
