I removed mine to put a black chrome one on from IND, looked at it for a while with it off (sorry no pictures) and decided I was cool with putting the new badge on.

Its cleaner IMO. And as opposed to the popular thought that LBB is a "Look at me!" color (which it is for some), I like the color for myself, and don't like to attract that much attention - and would rather fly under the radar.
Debadging it gives the car a lower pretentious factor, i feel. If you know it's an M2 based on its shape alone, then great. If not, then I won't be the one telling you its an M2. |

You picked the wrong color for someone who doesn't like attention Plus, it's LA. Where F80s are like Honda Civics and seeing a half dozen Rolls Royce Ghosts on any given day is par for the course. I think you'll fly under the radar just fine without having to resort to debadging. OP on the other hand might have a better argument. |

Of all of the features of the M2 the badge on the back is the least "show off" feature. An LBB M2 with its exhaust tone and burbles, 19" wheels and muscular stance doesn't suddenly blend in when you take a badge off the back.

That is a logical statement but you'd be surprised that most people need a badge to tell them what make of car it is. I just say it's a bmw.

I understand removing rear and side badges from the M135/m235i's as they can look fairly discreet if you want them to as visually they are very similar to normal 1 and 2 series. Debadging an M2 because someone may prefer the so called cleaner lines, maybe but debadging to somehow make it discreet I cant buy. Why is an 'M2' badge on the back all of a sudden attract people to it over the quad exhausts, flared wheel arches, big wheels need I go on. Plus I assume you haven't removed the 'M2' from the kidney grills? And LBB if you like flying under the radar, ummm not the most discreet either. Anyway I am not saying its good or bad to de badge, it looks great with or without. Last edited by wenklaw; 09-05-2017 at 09:48 AM.. |

Interesting as I have never heard debadging referred to the Euro look, not saying that maybe in the US its referred to as it but believe me its not a UK reference, but then we soon wont be in the Euro!!!
Most debadging in the UK is by lower end model owners and lower capacity diesel owners, I am not being a snob but its a fact based on the lack of any statistics I have ever seen, purely observational! Some debadge the M135/235/140/240i's but it again based on no statistics and seems to be a very very small minority of owners here in the UK. I don't think I have ever seen a debadged full M car of any sort. |

Not sure, maybe it's from my past experiences where I've had my car's windshield's shattered and keyed in the past that I wish to be somewhat more discreet. Debadging is not going to make the car invisible, but I'm' not trying to get this car at the body shop for repair work (that I didn't cause)! I got LBB because I like its color, and my personal preference overrides the discreet factor! |

I debadged my F30 because I didn't like all the chrome (335i plus Xdrive badge)...personally I can't stand chrome on a car...seems so 70's. Before: After (on the right): Will I debadge the M2 when it finally arrives?? Not sure yet, might change to a dark badge to try and match the CF diffuser and CF rear deck spoiler...saw a pic on here somewhere of a black one..didn't look horrible. No CHROME!! |
