Since there is no used car factory, the time to buy an F87 Comp is when you find the right car.

Agreed.

And values have held pretty steady for the Comp from what I’ve seen. Those waiting for the galactic crash in prices may be waiting for something that never comes.

We know one thing…the G87 had little to no effect on used F87 prices.

Used car values are going down fairly drastically, hell even new sought-after cars no longer have huge ADMs. I think this would be a decent time to buy, I would go for a later 20 or 21 model to get the remaining warranty, as long as the car doesn't have too many miles.

That's not true at all, pre G87, these cars had trade in values of mid 50s and sale prices of high 50s and low 60s, basically MSRP. As soon as the G87 hit dealerships, sale prices are high 30s to low 50s depending on miles and spec. Average sale price looks to be low to mid 40s. KBB trade in for a 2020 with 30K miles in fair shape is high 30s. That doesn't leave a lot of room on the table for dealers.

$39.9k at 11k miles for a ‘21? Something gotta be wrong with that car. Accident history perhaps.

EDIT: Salvage title.

Good call. An F87C at like low 40s is a hell of a deal, these are fantastic cars and if OP is in the market, do it. You won't regret it. Are they going to eventually get even more cheaper, sure, but you're missing out on some good times.

Is your screenshot just a nationwide search of all M2C’s sorted by low price to high price, and are you just showing the three cheapest ones? That would be the lowest 3 percentile and looks like it’s already been confirmed at least one has a salvage title. If so, that’s completely misleading. Please also post the 3 highest priced ones so we can at least get both extremes neither of which are of any use whatsoever.

Yeah, check autotrader, the M2Cs are deep into the 50s and some over 60. They took a hit awhile back but I don't think it was due to the G87. It was mostly due to Covid winding down and car production in general picked up.

I recently purchased my 21’ M2C from a local used dealer with Only 17k miles. Paid $58k.

I Have had the car for 3 months now and 0 regrets. Best car I have ever owned! Might have been a little higher than most would have paid, but it was specd how I wanted and checked all the boxes. I’d say if you find one you love, BUY IT!!

I could stare at this thing all day! 🤤🔥

I recently paid £40k ($51k) for the highest spec manual available in the UK, 18k miles.

In the last 2 months since then the high performance car market has dropped like a lead balloon and you can now get yourself into a lower spec 2 owner 20,000 mile DCT for as little as £26,500 ($33,800).

Cheapest manual currently available in UK is a 2019 model with both packs and sunroof, 44,000 miles and £31,000 ($39500).

Aside from a 300 mile BMW owned show car, there is not currently a single M2C in the UK with an asking price over £40,000 ($51,000).

So absolutely the prices have fallen here in the UK, and there's a lot of cars available to choose from. I would guess the big push behind this is super cheap finance deals coming to an end (sub 3%) and people not being able to refinance at the huge APRs we are now seeing (over 14%).

doesn't seem like prices have moved much in the last year.

i bought my m2c with 17k miles about a year ago with an MPE, oem mp lip, spoiler, skirts, and diffuser and gold 763m for like 62k.

i could probably sell it for the same amount right now at 20k miles

Damn. Also, seeing g87s with new miles for $60k is bonkers.

I bought my car in February of 2021 for $63,000. 3 years later, it is worth about $53K to $54K. That's not bad depreciation if you ask me.

I bought my model year 2019 M2C in August of 2018 (European Delivery) for $58k. It's current value is still in the 50's. That's pretty low depreciation for a Car that's been on the road for 5 1/2 years.
I think it's always a good time to get a car if you love it. If it has very low depreciation or even appreciation in the future then I see a green light.

Same here. I got the European Discount back in beginning Oct 2018 as well. This car is awesome.

I also got my 2019 with European delivery. Got it here in February 2019. It is nice to see it hold its value so well, but why do I even care because I have no intention of selling it.

I am waiting for the prices to come down more. The delta between G87 and F87 isn’t much which doesn’t make sense given most F87 have no warranty and are a generation old.

What is really interesting is the rate that used G87 prices are dropping. Especially if it is a manual. I believe the F87 will always have a better residual and that is playing out.

Based on recent g87 threads, it seems most new buyers are paying less than msrp too. Id feel bad for them if they weren’t such cunts originally. My guess? Its likely a return to pre-covid form and the early adopters are stuck holding the bag. The extra hp version coming next year is just salt in the wound

Im not sure this is correct. About the time f87s hit prime depreciation age, covid hit. Things just happened to get back to normal around 2023, the year the g87 launched. I doubt much correlation exists; as shoppers for the f87 and g87 are fairly different demographics, imo.
