What good is just water temp, surely oil temp is just as if not more important, i use the oil guage to determine when i can start pushing the car from a cold start.
Yes, it's calculated from the coolant and oil temps. Good guy Artemis mentioned the Technical Training PDF a few posts above - I encourage everyone to read through it. It's all there.

Temporary solution for track days I guess

So how much different than an F80 is the driving experience? Is it all light and tossable as they have stated in the reviews, or it just feels like a short F80?

Not the sound or interior, just the handling aspect.

The code he enters is the sum of last 5 numbers of his VIN.

Thanks, so do you have to enter the code every time you start the car or are those temperature readings always available from then on?
Any other cool stuff you can unlock from the secret menu?

I think you have to do this every time you start the car so it's not a very good option for daily use. In addition to oil/coolant temp, you can also access some maintenance related stuff, fuel consumption etc. There are couple of videos on youtube going over each option in the hidden menu.

I was wondering since you have both 1M and M2 if you could comment on differences, similarities, etc.

I concur....I really would like to know if there is an illuminated shift knob. It doesn't really matter that much to me, I just think it's pretty sweet at night with the low ambient light.

I would also like to know if the manual shift knob is illuminated in the M2 but uae247 has the DCT in his M2.Does the DCT shift knob also light up in the F80 M3?I didn't turn the headlights on to see if it did when I took the car for a test drive.
