What other cars are you talking about though?

Honestly, I really doubt the M2/C got ignored more than than any other.
Only the M8 does BMW M justice now after the M2/M2C.

Either way, BMW has the M2 CS in the pipeline. That car alone will get a reveal and steal the spotlight from all the other M's.

The only reason an M3 costs more is because its full of useless options which bump up the price.

The M2c is about driving and some other M owners dont like having spent way more for a cheaper model to out perform it in reviews and fun to drive.

All it takes is a 'sunrise to sunset' session in the mountains with my pals and me to teach the gentleman some respect.

Lets be honest here. This is an old discussion that was settled by the 1M. Like the OG M2 it did not have an S engine but it is highly respected and still sought after. Both the 1M and M2 are real M cars.

Intellectual honesty finding: the original M2 has been reviewed plenty of times and it looks like, without exception, all reviewers are in denial.

So go drive one and tell us how they/we all got it wrong.

I'm not denying or saying that the OG M2 is not a hell of a car. I know it's a good car because my friend owns one. What I also can do is send you links of articles and videos of people saying that the M2C should have been the first M2 that should have come out. So your previous post is kind of pointless.

Also, there are TONS of OG M2 car owners that were extremely upset when the M2C was announced feeling a bit betrayed by BMW that expressed their feelings all over these forums...why do you think that is?

There are also those of us that rushed out to buy an OG M2 as soon as the specs of the M2C were released. I wasn’t planning to buy a car last June, but after reviewing the updates that came with the M2C, and because I wanted a new one that no one else had abused, I pushed up my purchase plans while there was still inventory.

-150lbs lighter
-better seats (thigh extension is more comfortable for me, and adjustable headrest means I can run harnesses without replacing seats)
-better engine sounds
-ability to run 18" wheels for better track tire selection

For me, those things made it more of an M car than an engine code that starts with an S. The side mirrors are a very recent M thing. Not much heritage to the mirrors to be credible as a requirement for M status. Same for the power bulge in the hood...

Exactly, when the F80 M3 first came out I thought putting 4 wheels on a barge does not make an M car, irrelevant of the S moniker. It's just an opinion...
