A little sad to see so many saying that the M is being "diluted', I understand what you are saying. Shine and dine isn't exactly what it used to be. From the performance perspective, the Ms are only getting better!
It's funny because even Biermann criticized BMW for putting ///M badges on everything, and he was the head of BMW ///M. He said that he used to have to fight tooth and nail for ///M cars, and now they just slap the badge on everything. Ex-BMW big wigs, journalists and enthusiasts have been saying this for years. Is everybody just pulling those statements out of their asses?

This will be the final CS version. I will mark the date of this post for reference. This is further testing/development of the CS. This is not a track only version or a separate car from what we have been seeing.

VCP: But this car shown testing has a wing in the rear? Are you implying that M2 CS will have a wing?

Are you sure you are talking about the M2 CS and not M2 Racing or CSL?

It would be AWESOME if the Clubsport version is street legal - a half cage version that you can drive to the track.

Do we know yet what the wheel / tyre specs are ? They look like 18" so wandering if M2R will have same wheels/tyres/brakes as M4 GT4 ???

Although, I thought I saw some very recent photos of a M2R with 18" alloys which looked like 513m ??

In other words, you don't necessarily have to follow the CCB route to save significant amount of weight. The replacement cost of CCBs and the fact that you cannot fit 18" wheels on them are total deal breakers for me.
Yes 18” wheels and Alcon brakes for the M2C track spec’s first outing.

I think it is somewhat a sign of the times. BMW, like so many other manufactures, are creating something for every potential customer.

It seems that way on its face, but it seems like overkill to me.

If the Clubsport version of the M2 Comp Racing car has a half cage, racing seats, etc., and can be driven to the track. BMW would certainly be building a car the market is absolutely look for, including myself!

That would be a great option for track oriented people like us, but I'm speaking more in general terms though. BMW could/should treat the ///M cars like Porsche treats cars. Provide lots of options for customization instead of so many different models.

I think they are starting now. Offering an Clubsport and Racing version for the same car.
I am now interested for the weight it will have. Is more powerfull than the Cayman gt4 , but the Cayman is on gt3 suspension, rod bearings, adjustable sway bars , etc , more track focused .

we ll see ......
