Does the M2 require rake?

Hey guys, I have a spare set of tires from my previous car that I'd like to use on the M, but they are a bit short in the back. I wouldn't bother but they only have 4,000 miles on them, and they are all-seasons, so I can use them this Winter.

Stock specs are:

F: 8.8 TW & 25.8 OD
R: 9.6 TW & 26.3 OD

This gives a .5" rake.

My tires are 235/35 & 275/30, which have the following specs:

F: 8.1 TW & 25.5 OD
R: 9.7 TW & 25.5 OD

I know they'll fit, just a tiny stretch in the front, but the rear 30 series is the same OD as the front. I know some cars get their ABS modules freaked out by changing the OD's from front to rear too much. Is the M2 that way?

The DSC/ABS will adjust after some miles. I run square winters and track wheels/tires. Takes a TPMS reset and 50-70 miles when I switch.

Thank you for the reply.

About the TPMS reset, is this something the car does automatically, or do I need to take it to a shop like my old Lexus IS350?

You reset in iDrive. Menu-> Vehicle Status. Should be the first option. Same place you can check tire pressure.

Or just press the voice command button and say “tyre pressure” to bring up the display. Perform reset will be highlighted, ready to go with a button click.

Hadn’t thought about this. The Nuance voice controls in the M2 are pretty great. I use them a lot for navigation and calls, but not for car controls. I’ll have to play with this feature more to keep me entertained in traffic.

Don't worry about it just reset TPMS, good to go!

Even matching tyres will be 1/2" difference diameter new to worn, before you figure pressure or load into it.
