Latest istep version seems to give almost GTS-esque EPS/MDiff with DSC full off

I think you are right. Bimmercode does not support this. I downloaded E-sys. But I need to read up on what I am doing. It looks foreign to me.

I'm having trouble getting my dealer to update istep. They keep saying they'll only do it if there's a problem. I told them the problem was that the steering feel sucks, and I want it fixed with the updated steering calibrations, but apparently that's not a bad enough problem to get a software update. Any ideas?

Yep, if you update your car's software, then any coding needs to be reapplied.
The exception to that is if you change your VO to get altered functionality, but that's not relevant to the steering coding discussed in this thread. |

Save yourself the time of trying to explain something like this to a service manager. They’re just going to look at you like you’re crazy as described above. They’re worthless.
PM Kubax86 on here, pay him a reasonable sum of money for his time, and get all this done. He even saves you the hassle of recoding. |

Thanks for the comprehensive review.
Do I need full psdzdata to code the EPS module?
