Schroth quickfit pro

Hi guys,

Looking to fit schroth quickfit pro harness to keep me planted in the seat better. Found a video of a E92 installation. Does the E92 version fit the M2?

Removing the back seat to reach the latch point is easy. However, to reach the front latch point a plastic cover needs to be removed front seat. Can somebody tell me how to do this? In the E92 video is pops right off but it seems that on the M2 it works differently.

Thanks

Get the 1 series E82/E92 fitment, it works. The cover just pops off. I bent my bracket 90 degrees flush against the carpet and popped the cover back on after installation.

I also got the E82/E92 model--easy install and works well.

Also use this harness on the M2 now, previously used on my 135i. Just use a flathead screwdriver or plastic interior trim remover to pop out the plastic trim piece.

Coming back to this once more. Does the cover on the seat come off that easily? Just the part wich says airbag on it? I had a mechanic take a look at it and he says the seat has to come out to undo 2 torqx bolts. One on top if you push the bolster in and probably one on the underside. But this is not what I'm hearing here.
Can maybe someone sent a pic or clear instructions? Don't want to break anything :-)

We're talking about the cover over the front outboard seatbelt anchor which on the floor in the rear seat footwell. Just pry the cover off with a wide screwdriver or putty knife. No need to remove the seat. Just run it forward and up.

I ground the corner off of the cover to fit over the Schroth anchor. I probably could have bent the anchor more but elected to grind. I have the part number so I can replace the cover if I sell the car.

Finally recieved the quickfit pro. Delivery in europe was not easy as the quickfit is not legally tested.

What do you guys use to remove the bolts of the seatbelts? I have a torqx bit T50 and tried manually and with an electric handdrill but it wont budge. And when refitting them, should I use locktight?

Thanks!

Need a wrench with torx socket. I was fine with a 3/8" wrench. I did a little bit of blue locktite on mine when re-installing, and torqued to factory spec, which isn't all that tight (I believe it's around 35 ft-lbs, it's in a different thread in this section).

The plastic cover for the front belts is listed as "replace after removing" by BMW - some of the little plastic tabs that hold it in tend to snap off or deform when you pull it off. Mine seem to be holding OK for now, but if they keep falling off or rattling, I'll just buy new ones. can't imagine they are more than $10-20 each, hopefully less.

@M2guru how does the blue look? Does it go well with the polar blue stitching? I've got one black, but it's got some ugly white stitching that's really bothering me, and I'm curious if the blue looks better.

Color is very close but not the same. I will only use it for track days so it's not a big deal for me if the color if off.

What are the differences b/w Pro and "regular" Quick Fit?

Also, what exactly are optional harness grips and pads?

One difference is a neck restraint can be used with the pro but not the regular.

Pads are just that - more padding for comfort. Grips not 100% but think they are to help tighten the harness. Imo neither is necessary. Pro is plenty comfortable and easy to adjust as is. Awesome setup.

I just installed the quickfit pro, but I find that if I tighten the harness to a level that holds me in place, the center-lock rides way above the pelvis, directly over the belly-button And this is having the bottom two straps painfully tightened around the gut. With my HANS on, the issue is even worse since the device "raises" my shoulder height, bringing the center-lock even higher.

I'm considering purchasing the VAC anti-sub belt mount (https://store.vacmotorsports.com/vac...ket-p2106.aspx) along with the Schroth Profit anti-sub strap (https://www.schrothracing.com/products/anti-sub-straps) to help remedy this, but I'm sort of curious as to why, despite all of my research, I've never seen anyone complain about this? Hopefully I'm just doing something wrong
