45 here...going to 6MT for sure, can't decide if I want to wait for the G87 or stick with the current gen. The mrs. think I'm ridiculous but I can't decide and also put her 2cents in that I should get DCT so she can drive.

Well then, one way to keep the car to yourself is get the manual. It seems like a no brainer to me

So happy I chose 6MT. Got an automatic once for my girlfriend years ago and regretted it almost immediately.

Same here. My wife and kid don't like the M2C. And the wife refuses to learn to drive manual. We need to share cars sometimes.

Well well, my situation changed a week after I wrote that. I got hit by an idiot pulling out of the highway shoulder at 65mph last week. RR quarter & bumper damage to my Z4MC. I still want an M2C but now it may replace the Z4MC instead of the Golf R, which I'd keep as my daily. That actually made more sense in the first place, I just didn't want to part with the E86. Depending on how the repair plays out, I may want to move on. Either way, M2C in my future is a likelihood at this point.

Sorry to hear about the accident. I love our Golf R, M2C combo! Please also check out the "same spec madness" thread. There are lots of us!

Above 50. Third BMW in a row.... all white! started small, 118D... got it a bit tweaked with some chip tuning. Then a 230i company leased. And now a M2C MT. All cars been on the track. Definitely like the M2C.. still feels there is more to extract... Oh, all manuals (of course)

I turn 47 in April and I just bought one. I've wanted a real M car since my 90 M3. I couldn't be happier.

Turning 47 in a month. Traded from an m4 because I had more fun in the m2c. Couldn't be happier.

Bought mine at 54 yrs age because the test drive blew me away how great a car it is and made me smile . HSilver 6MT, all stock, not flashy or showy . Really doesn't matter at all to me if other people think if I look too old or whatever! Hahaha. I am grateful to have 2 arms and 2 legs and the opportunity to drive ANY M car!!
Good for this old man's BP !

I think most of us on here are on the "older" side. We know what we want, not what others want

I got mine right before I turned 31, but I would have done the same thing at 62 or 93. Age is just a number when it comes to cars!

In 2004 I bought a new Golf .:R32. Weeks later, some guy posted in a "sighted" thread on vwvortex.com that he'd seen an "old guy" driving one in my area, clearly it was me. And that was 18 years ago. Yikes!

Sold a Ferrari f355 manual and bought an M2 comp manual as my older age car. I’m 71.

Was in my early 30s when the M2 was first released. Now I'm in a better situation financially in my late 30s. Get what you want.

Over 70 here. Put in a lot of soundproofing and installed a premium speaker system. Couldn't be happier. While the car was in the shop recently for routine maintenance I had a BMW SUV for a loaner. The car felt like a Buick. Very happy to get my car back. Manual transmission.

I just turned 53 and had wanted the M2C but I have two kids (10&13) and don't think they will be terribly happy in the backseat so now I am looking for an M4.

46 with 2 kids occasionally in the back (smaller though, 9 and 7)
They complain more with the stiff suspension and lack of dedicated opening window than the room (it's surprisingly OK back there for a small coupe) but hey - it's that or the school bus

Same age here. Bought the M2C w/ DC two years ago. Finally getting better utilizing some of it's capabilities. Mrs Contented and I are getting into off roading / rock crawling w/ a Ford Bronco Badlands, if it ever gets here. I can go fast or slow whenever we want. One never knows what tomorrow may bring. So we're living life to the fullest.

Take care. Contented
