basically, i've been driving around 3 - 4 times, 20 - 30 minute intervals in my car post downpipe install. They are the new 3.5 inch MAD downpipes, no cat. my CEL hasyet to come on. What are the odds the car is tuned and i bought it having no idea?

If you do not have a tune, the odds of the CEL not popping up is close to zero unfortunately

Yep. Drive it for longer periods than a few mins to have things settle in; if no CEL pop up, you're certainly tuned. Unfortunately you won't know which tune the previous owner used…

Could be, or it could be a matter of time before the CEL is triggered.

i have a 2020 M2C so i assumed it was locked. can i search VIN?

Do some 60-130 pulls and record on Dragy… you’ll know if it’s tuned or not.

1) Were the OEM DP's on the car when you swapped to the catless 3.5 " ones?

2) If the car did have another set of aftermarket DP's the previous owner might have used spacer(s) to fool the O2 sensor into ready status.

3) Unless you're blessed by the O2 sensor gods, there's no way a catless setup isn't going to trigger a P0420 code/CEL.

Last, with or w/o a tune if your state requires your O2 sensor to be in ready status you will fail (almost all do BTW) Why? Because coding out the O2 sensor using tuning software takes the sensor out of ready status. If you put the OEM tune back on the car you then have to let it go thru a 30-40 miles reset and the CEL will come on. Either way your going to fail.

I also want to add that swapping your OEM DP's back on the car is a huge PITA with lots of skinned knuckles and cursing.

For all the above reasons I went with a HF DP Wagner setup on my previous 2020 M2 so that I could pass the MA emissions test.

Good to know you didn't buy a tuned car I guess

But you didn't do a PPI before purchase? I heard ISTA auto flags cars with tunes on them now
