It is a flash tune. Which still will require removing the DME and sending to be bench unlocked.

AmooManiak : sorry you’ve had a bad experience with them. I would probably be somewhat upset about the poor communication of timing as well. But from what I hear from a lot of people who own S55 vehicles, their tune is very good and reliable. Hopefully they keep their word on the timing.

Yes, because your DME was unlocked. You are mixing apples and oranges.

This thread is in regards unlocking new(er) DMEs, not the actual tunes. Nothing is wrong with the tune itself - just the lack of knowledge on their part when it comes to what can be done. They don't even know what can be done on the older locked DMEs (as my story proved), let alone the new ones.

When you put in that way then you are correct. I did not have to deal with even bench unlocking. Maybe one of the good things about getting my car early. I hope you guys get a solid option soon.

The car in their video is a Bosch MG1, and zero mention of MEVD172G dme.

Mission literally stated "ALL" DME in capital letters built after 06/2020+ so yes it is indeed included.

MEVD172G support would be great, but then they'd claim they can unlock the 03/2019+ version via OBD, since it's the same bootloader and flash data as 06/2020++ MEVD172G.

No one is speculating they said in the thread every DME built after 06/2020+ is unlocked. Then later someone who asked mission about that issue stated 03/2019 is still requiring a bench but they are working on a solution now that they finished the hard work of the newer DME's to be Unlocked

My question would be is the MEVD172G dme the dme in the 06/2020+ or the 03/2019 group ?

It is strange, they are afraid tuners will reverse engineer their process and steal their work. So they are looking in solutions to hide their work before release.

We're working on it means that they don't support MEVD172G yet.

The reverse logic up there doesn't prove they support it.

Mevd172g from 03/2019 and from 06/2020+++ use the same BMW software and the same OBD protections.

It's bench access (Bosch service mode) that is different between them.

Well, fed up of waiting for the DME crack so going a different route.
Have sourced a non encrypted ECU from a 2019 M2C along with keys and the necessary associated modules (FEM, ABS/DSC module and Instrument cluster) to fit to the car. These parts are apparently required so there is no mileage discrepancy as mileage is recorded in all these modules. Should be a plug and play situation with some coding. If this works which my tuner says it will, we can then fit the hybrid turbos, larger intercooler, radiator, chargepipes and meth kit and tune the car. Aiming for 650 BHP with 750 NM torque. Will keep y'all posted

The rest of the car will freak out when it sees the discrepancy of VIN in all the modules.
I'd highly advise not to simply change just those modules. There are better, more graceful ways.

Mission performance have been rather quiet lately. You'd think a company that cracked something would be more interested in the public feedback and questions regarding their tunes that confirms what DME's into specifics as ones such as ours. Seems like they actually do care about clout and not about their consumer base.

Still not convinced they've actually cracked anything. I am willing to bet they misunderstood the issue like so many other people have done and in fact, all they've done is 'crack' one of the previous, already crackable DMEs. Now they've come to realise that, they'll probably go quiet until it blows over.

Thanks for the advice. I have to be guided by my tuner who is extremely knowledgeable and says he can work round this. If it all goes ti*s up I will be the first to eat humble pie! I will keep you informed how it goes

Mission performance stated that our DME is not included…. However they said they are hoping to work on it in the near future. Very sad. Gonna be prob another few months. Cross your fingers maybe there's a release by the end of the year for us.

They're omitting lots of info again, just like all DMEs after 06/2020 were not all DMEs.
There's no indication at all that they have any progress done or that it will be a term of months, unfortunately.
I've been working on these for a while too, as so many hackers have as well. I cannot be as optimistic.

At this point I will be very surprised if anyone bothers to hack these specific DMEs. Very frustrating but it is what it is. I won't be tuning mine until the warranty expires so I've got another 2 years of patience yet.
