Good question! I could be wrong, but I would think that since Bimmercode reads the ECU involved before displaying the screen that allows you enable or disable things, and I suspect the menu would not offer a particular feature if it wasn't available to code.

In the rain and/or fog situations they are considerably brighter than just the standard red running lights, the intent is to announce your presence to approaching cars sooner than later, hopefully avoiding being rear ended. Unofficially they can be turned on briefly to get the a**hole tailgating your ass off your ass by giving him the impression you just hit your brakes.
The main reason they are available is that many European countries require them. Audi's imported to the US for years have had them.

This is exactly what I want to get done. Was it easy. I just got Mine today. Will mess with it in the next couple days.

akkando Exactly what TT1351 said. I actually ended up using them this weekend (for fog reasons.. not tailgaters haha). A group of us rolled up to Bav Auto's Show & Shine event at 7:30AM and it was pretty thick at some points which made from some nice roller shots

Skasol Here is the advice I gave another forum member about most of what you are looking to do - http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...5&postcount=54. The app is wicked easy. Start off with the ones in basic mode, backup what you have (which the app actually does automatically), and take your time.

I think you would just have to switch back to "unknown value" from the main menu, I don't think you need to go to expert. Not certain however as I deleted mine via the cable method.

Do they just use the reverse lights as rear fog lights? It looks like that way from the pictures shown earlier. Would that scare the **** out of the guy behind you thinking you just put the gear in reverse?

No, they are fog light specific bulbs that are in all tail light assemblies, not reverse lights, they are white.

Thanks TT1351 for clarifying. So the lights are already there but not been activated here in NA?

Can you use bimmercode on two different devices for the same vehicle?

Once you purchased it you can load it in any IOS apple device and code ,multiple compatible vehicles. But I suggest you only use one device per vehicle to avoid confusing which car you backed up with what device..

Can ASD now be re-enabled through the APP without going through to "expert mode"? If backed up prior to disabling ASD, will restoring work? I'm pretty new to this. Thanks.

I am inclined to say yes. The menu options don't disappear after you code something, so go back to the ASD menu, I think there are just two options, unknown value is what is checked, the other option is not active, which is what you would check to disable ASD. To enable ASD again, I would go back to the default setting, "unknown value" to turn it back on.

Has anybody succeeded with this? According to Stephen, its got to be re-enabled either via expert mode, or by reinstantiating the backup. Seems like if this were possible, there'd be some mention of it within these 48 pages.
