Kids in the backseat?

I am looking at an M2 and wondering if my kids (10 and 13) will fit in the backseat?

Thanks.

I think that'll depend on your height.

I'm 6'3", leaving next to no room behind me in my normal driving position. I've been able to squeeze myself a bit and have a woman sit behind me for a few minutes, but I'd not have been able to drive for long in that position.

On other occasions I've had a smaller person in the passenger seat and someone was able to sit behind them just fine. Kids would likely be find so long as you weren't planning on doing a cross country trip.

I've done at least three 1000 mile plus road trips with kids of similar age with no complaints from the back seat.
As long as the back seat occupants aren't over 6' it should be fine for long trips.
Short trips will be fine even with taller occupants.

you will be completely OK.

i'm about 6'2" and drive this car every day. i've had three adult passengers including a 6'4" 270-lb buddy. it was tight but do-able for around town.

Even though its already answered accurately, I'll add my experience to the mix. Totally doable. I have a family of 4 and we cart the kids around with no problem. I'm 6'4" and drive with the seat mostly all the way back and my oldest daughter just puts her knees/legs into the seat "slots" and she fits comfortably. Also had some adults back there last night for a canyon run and they were perfectly comfortable.

I think lots of people just assume that a 2 door coupe is cramped in the back seat but the M2 is an exception to the rule, just try a Mustang or a Camaro.

I am 5'8" and about 180 lbs and I JUST fit comfortably behind myself with the front seat in a comfortable position for me driving. My head barely brushes the headliner and my knees are likewise barely brushing the seat in front of me. With your heights, your family will be fine.

The only time the back seats are a problem is when I have more than one six-footer to haul around as 6+ foot tall people will push the front seats back far enough to make the rears pretty unusable.

I do not have children, but I use this car as my daily. It's the only car I own (other than a racing/project car with some friends.)

It also depends on a person's preferred driving position. I drive close with knees bent. Some people like to drive like they're in a recliner.

Yes no problem I’ve had my kid in my M2 since she was an infant in a rear facing seat all the way to front facing. With the rear facing the passenger in the front will have limited leg room. Front facing is much better

I've fit adults in my back seat for local trips. I haven't tried long distance trips with anyone in the back, but I wouldn't see having kids back there an issue.

Just here to say I have fond memories of riding in the backseat of Dad’s OG Scirocco, and later his ‘91 Prelude SH 4WS.

Should I be so lucky, my first child will have memories of riding in the back of my F87 when the boost comes on.

I had 2 Recaro child seats in the back of mine without issues. Lots of room for kids.

You will have no problem. I’m 6’2” and regularly have two kids in the back (7 & 11). I have the 11 yo sit behind me because he can flat foot the floor while sitting. The 7 yo who is 4’ has shorter legs and needs to be able to have more leg room since he can’t put his feet flat on the floor yet.

The bigger issue for me is that the car is narrow so they punch and poke each other non-stop which they can’t do in the van.
