Help with downpipe please
So I’ve been wanting to replace my OEM downpipe with a catted one to give a boost to my HP, without causing issues with emission requirements and so on before I tune to stage 2. I am not bothered with a decat because a pal got one and the smell was awful. I've seen others mentioning Akra, Active Autowerke, Stone, Magnaflow, and Fi. Apparently the Akra does not require a remap right after and Active Autowerke seems to be great performance-wise.
Any experience with these brands? Which of these is worth the upgrade? |

I have had the Fabspeed for the last 10K miles and have been extremely happy with it. It does not require a remap after installation and should not throw any codes. It has an advantage over some of the other manufacturers who do take advantage of the additional stock bracket to reduce exhaust movement.

Just saw one of their downpipe install vids. Their sound is pretty neat, even with the downpipe alone. I'll definitely consider this

I chose the Fabspeed catted DP with the Dinan resonator delete, and I'm quite happy with both. I didn't notice any significant additional power, but the sound was immediately better with more artifacts, 30% more volume, and a deeper tone. At first I didn't notice any additional smell, but after having it a few months I could definitely tell under certain circumstances (doesn't bother me much).
NOTE: On the M2, the resonator does NOT do a traditional resonator's job on the stock exhaust; to quiet drone. If you do the Dinan resonator delete (or just put a pipe there) with a catted DP you will have ZERO additional drone. But if you then later get an aftermarket exhaust and don't have the resonator in place, you'll have more drone. DO NOT ask me why this is, I'm not an exhaust sound artifact specialist, but I know these things to be true from my own testing. CN: Keep your resonator for the future just in case. Also, before the exhaust mods I *think* I remember comfort mode being the quietest on the Interstate (not that I drove it there much), but after the exhaust mods Sport is definitely quietest. |

Yo sorry about that, took me a little time to decide. Was sooo close to ordering the AA but changed my mind last minute. I got the Stone catted dp because of this weird design thing they had and the sound (guilty). Hope I made the right decision but lol, we’ll see
Still keeping the AA in mind though for other mods |
