Stefan,

There are a few good threads on how to improve the sound system in our M2's w/o spending a ton...

My thread:

https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...=harmon+kardon

Others that i read to help me chart my upgrades

https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...K+sound+system

https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...K+sound+system
Fantastic info and thank you for sharing! I may go down the road of improving sound matting as well to cut some road noise. The soundskins listed in that one post isn't something I have seen before, so that is awesome!

I am incredibly pleased with the Bimmertech offerings, both amp and speakers, the difference is dramatic.

Adding sound matting to the doors would be the likely best bang for the buck including install time and is on my radar for sure.

Which app did you use, to code read light bulbs to led. If it was Carly, was it also in expert mode?

Also good youtube channel, I've seen most your m2 videos.

If you haven't seen it yet, the new rear view mirror in the latest BMW G series models really is a dramatic improvement. It is wider, has an almost borderless design and is much thinner. To top it off, the homelink buttons are redesigned along with the LED dome (now gone) you see on the older mirrors!
Its a HUGE improvement both visually and functionally, and I knew I had to make the change! The mirrors new are rather pricey, but if you look around especially on Ebay or from wrecked models, you can find one much cheaper like I did.
The change is non destructive, so you could always change back if you leased your car, or wanted it back off, and really isn't hard to do.
All of the details are in the video, and this an easy change for HUGE benefit, especially in a car like the M2C with a really small mirror.

All right yall, new week and time for a new project!

I am a HUGE believer in supporting the subsystems of your car if you are taking it past stock, and cooling is critical. Simply just tuning and turning up the power and torque increases stress on the motor, greater heat and more pressure.

Because of that, I really think every BMW S55 owner should look to improve their charge cooler/heat exchanger system with the upgrade from Kies Motorsports!

The CSF Radiators charge cooler has a 60% larger core than OEM and is all metal and avoids metal on plastic weak points. I also think its vital to also change the heat exchanger (dedicated radiator) with the upgrade as well. The exchanger has 26% larger surface space, including a rock guard (a must for the track!), is 15mm thicker, and a much denser core. Yet is plug in play install!

This will better support the whole system, and bring a new level of cooling, especially on multiple dyno runs days, track days or even just hotter weather. The longer your charge cooler can stay ahead of the heat, the better your car will perform.

Plus.. there are lots of really cool colors and other choices if you want for the charge cooler too. I went stealth black, staying in theme for my M2C Lillith. 8)

Check it out!

The only 'problem' my 19 M2C has ever had is that it took a rock punched a hole in a radiator which had to be replaced. Obviously if this happens out on the road, or worse on a trip, this could create a huge issue and a terrible day. Track days are even more hazardous environments, and I have seen folks line their front bumper vents with hardware store chicken wire and other options to cut down on rock and debris damage.

I started looking around and I found Zunsport in the UK, who comes highly reviewed and recommended and makes very high quality grills!

Completing out the track day prep of screens, is the Turner skid plate! Best way to protect the oil radiator and lower front end!

Oh huge stuff coming.. just setup a custom tune coming from the amazing Cary Jordan, the man who took my N55 435i to 440rwp and 454lbs of torque!

Cannot wait! It will be 4-6 weeks before a full dyno dialed in tune, but the process has started and I cannot WAIT to see his work on my M2C!

How do you like the Bimmer tech audio upgrades? There are several plug and play upgrades (with HK audio as a start g point), but getting feedback would be very helpful!

Absolutely transformative to my experience. The only further change I will likely make is adding sound matting in the doors and more.

I am really impressed by the speakers and amp but especially their remote tuning session to ensure its setup right for me.

Update with the custom tune from Cary Jordan.. incredible experience, that man is a PRO! I did remote tuning on the dynojet at CarbConn in Kirkland WA.

RWP averaged STD corrected - 500.42
Torque average STD corrected - 511.88

Really stable smooth runs, ZERO issues like I had with the OTS S2 tune.

Latest video is up! This really is a must have:

I hope everyone is having a great week and time to share my latest DIY!
After seeing the results of two car fires in the last two months out on the road, I realized I needed to get serious about this. Not only for my car but others, for normal driving or possible track days too.

This is where the amazing Halguard extinguisher from H3R Performance, Inc. comes in!

Looking into it, I wanted effective, convenient and for automotive use, won't damage other components by using it! No seriously, the powder style extinguishers can damage electronics and electrical systems!

This system plus the incredibly configurable quick release and seat mount setup was perfect, and I had to have it in my car!

Make sure to check it out, and seriously consider this investment in your safety, because if in that moment you need it, this will be the best money you have ever spent.
