let's be careful ! the link pipe assembly and Ak Motion seems to work but the oxygen sensors are very sensitive
better to wait a bit I will tell you within a month if there is no error code

Spray painted muffler. See before/after pics.
I did same on my previous Comp as well. Less than 1 hour job including masking. Really easy project. |

I used high-temp mat black spray paint for BBQ's.
I first wiped muffler with soap and water to remove any dirt or oil, then started car to dry and warm up muffler to lukewarm temp for paint to better adhere as air temp was only 8C deg here. After spray application, I started car again to promote paint drying. Also, I used 2 sheets of cheap and thin painter's drop sheets you can get at the dollar store to mast the whole car prior to spraying. On my Comp, I had paint on the muffler for 2 yrs and it never peeled or flaked even after numerous track days. |

why change the original exhaust? ?
the very muffled sound is the only real flaw of M2 CS Because BMW has manufactured an exhaust according to strict standards if BMW had had free rein it would certainly not have installed a large pot filled with glass wool ! not to mention that this unsightly exhaust seems to fall to the ground

M2 CS exhaust
Hey guys. I recently got my M2 CS. I'm thinking of putting on a Ak exhaust on it. My only concern is...
In normal comfort modes. Will the cabin be loud and drone like sound. I'm hoping it won't be as I have my 2 year old daughter in the car quite often. Thanks. |

If the Akra exhaust is classified as fitting both M2C and M2CS, how is there any difference between the two? Last edited by rcouchh; 11-30-2020 at 05:52 PM.. |

I can't decide if you're trying to troll or if your attempt to help is just coming across negatively. My impression is that you're more interested in making proclamation that the C and CS are the same. Instead of being open to the potential that there might be subtle difference between the two that could cause owners to question fitment issues.
Answering a question with a question is not usually perceived as helpful. The statement you provided is blatantly false. The language used to describe the CS exhaust is in line with the m-sport exhaust. The comp language does not seem to match this. However m-sport seems to be marketing language for exhausts with valved flaps and specific sound tuning. I believe the Comp has this equipment, but it isn't referenced with the same language as the M2CS, x3comp, x4comp, and m5comp. The M2CS for whatever reason received this new language. Probably needs to sound money to help justify the money requested for the privilege of ownership. |

FYI, I also sent my inquiry to AA for them to answer. Their response so far was that they haven't seen a CS to date, so can't be certain it will fit. |

I suspect the "exhaust tuning" is model specific manipulation of the exhaust flaps. Either position vs rpm and/or shape of the flap.
Tried to dive further into the m-sport exhaust. On the m5 it's a change toe the resonator in the midpipe. Visually indistinguishable from the non m-sport, but results in a loudness increase of 6dB to 14dB. That's significant. The point is that we can't be sure that there is no modification longer this on the CS. Especially when they use the m-sport exhaust marketing language. https://f90.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1483135 Do not confuse m-sport exhaust with m-performance exhaust as they are different. Yes, it's also true that it's tune is less powerful, has a harsher ride and is way more ugly to look at.
