Question: Open recall on M2CS (United States)?

My client adviser told me there's an open recall on my M2 CS (fuel injectors) but when I type in the VIN to BMWNA's recall search tool, nothing comes up. And I haven't seen anything on the forum and this is the sort of thing I'd expect to find here if it were true. At this point, I'm guessing there is no open recall and my CA is confused but I thought I'd ask if anyone has heard anything similar. I don't want to start a rumor; I'm coming here to ask. I'm not really concerned about it one way or the other, just curious.

Anyone else heard this?

If on the injectors, wouldn't it be an issue with the M3/M4 that use the same engine?

They are also still building the cars. If an issue was identified, it should have already been corrected and only affect the early deliveries.

Yes, I see 4 cars with a stop on them. According to this bulletin it's for cars produced before 10/14.

Hmmm... my production date was Oct 20th... so I'm assuming mine isn't affected, if this even applies to CS models~~~

Correct, it does not show up on your car.

That might explain why some of us were pushed a week? Mine was produced on 10/16 instead of prior week.

Mine was October 12th and still sitting in the dock. I wonder if they can fix it before it gets to Australia?!

If they don't, fortunately, it's a very easy thing to swap fuel injectors. I haven't tried it on a N55/S55, but I've done it several times on a N54 and I'd imagine it's still about the same due to the similar engine layout. If it is, and a tech botches that job, they should maybe find a new job.

Not sure if the watercooled intercooler would need to be removed and filled/bled afterwards though or if you can work around it.

That was exactly my question....I have done my coils and plugs on N54, and the injectors are right there....but that air/water intercooler definitely seems like it would be in the way. If there is enough slack in the lines to move it around a little, no big deal. If it needs to be R+R'd....what a pain in the ass, especially for plugs.

My production start date was 10/7 but when I put in my VIN it shows 0 recalls for my car. Does that mean I'm in the clear?

Not necessarily. Mine shows 0 recalls online but my client advisor is the one who told me about the recall. I'd check with your CA to know. I think I'm the same production week as you.

I checked mine myself and it showed no recall. Contacted my CA and he checked their system and confirmed mine is affected. Build week 41. Arrived at the destination port in Halifax two weeks ago. He figures that’s why it still hasn’t been transported from the port yet. 😔

No recall on mine and it was a late August build.

Interesting that it seems to be a donut hole in the production . . . sounds like they must have discovered a bad batch of injectors? At least they didn't make owners wait for them to fail as with our beloved N54's.

Are they going to fix it at the port? Mine has been in Baltimore for 3 days.

He’s put an inquiry into BMW to find out what’s happening and how quickly, but yes, he said it would be dealt with at the port before the final transport to the dealership. I should have been able to take delivery late next week but at this point he has no idea now.

I hope they're safe and sound (and indoors) while they wait at the port. Mine should be arriving at Baltimore early tomorrow AM. Currently on the Orion Highway!

Mine entered production 10/7 and my SA just said my car is not part of the recall.

Not sure what to think.

I'm gonna need to check as my production was in Week 42 (Oct 12-18), which is right around the cutoff date of 10/14.
