Wondering how pricey/difficult it would be to swap the old instrument cluster for the new...

I read that too - the M4 and 4 series LCI:

http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1344241

"...adaptive full-LED headlights... are cropped off slightly at the top by the LED indicators that form the headlights’ “eyebrows”."

Was wondering if the M2 LCI adaptive headlights would look/work similar to those (if the pics under "BMW 4 Series Lighting LCI" aren't photo-shopped, that is).

Very very expensive. My F80 had some plastic shavings stuck inside the housing and I asked to get it addressed. BMW informed the dealer that the unit had to be replaced all together. The cost of the unit? $8,500USD. I was under warranty of course.

two types of LEDs on the M2 LCI...

Don't forget there are two types of LEDs on the M2 LCI. Base/Standard LED's and Adaptive LED's.

here is a M4 for example...

Absolutely love it. The biggest upgrade is the taillight in my opinion. Pre-LCI looks too pedestrian for me

My dad just took delivery of an M2. I'm sure it was one of the last ones before the LCIs started down the line. My lease is up on my 2015 235 and I've been itching for the M2, especially after driving my dads. I honestly am upset I'll be getting the LCI. I much prefer the pre LCI. The tail lights are hideous. Headlights are ok, but I like the lights on his M2 and my 235. The dash too doesn't look right, something just seems off about it.

Honestly the BMW branded photos made the LCI to be way more impressive then it ended up. The tail lights are just too "forced" and ruin the rear...

Maybe it looks better in person.

Let be real here, your buying the M2 to be a true drivers car so we're just being picky here. If I was one of those "guys" and buying a car for looks the LCI m2 would sway me to an M3/4....but the M2 is a much more drivers oriented car and that's what I'm after.

Getting to drive my dads here and there it's pretty crazy how different of a car it is from my 235. It's just epic!

Nice! I'll take two. White and black, his and hers. My wife will be so happy. Until she finds out I've refinanced the house to pay for the cars!!!

I would definitely be interested in both LCI taillight & adaptive full headlight (552) if a retro fit were possible. Anyone know if its feasible and what both DIY upgrades will cost?

Remember all the posts from people agonizing about buying an M2 that they had a lead on, or, waiting for the LCI? Are any of those people reading this thread and thinking "Oh Hell yes! I am soooooooo glad I passed up that M2 8 months ago and waited for this."?

I've been enjoying the heck out of mine since December of last year. The new LCI features are fine and all, but no regrets.

Does anyone know if the eyebrow "does" anything? Is it part of the blinker? Does it light up? Or is it just ... there? I liked the way the eyebrow on my 228i lit up. But in these pictures it looks like it does not illuminate which is sort of a bummer.

For that matter, are there any pictures or videos of the front turn signals? (LED? Incandescent?)
I've been wondering the same.. I'm glad you've asked the question. Can anyone add a video of the front indicators? Thanks

the only thing I don't like about the Xenons is the yellow turn signal bulb.It would have looked so much better having an LED turn signal bulb integrated into the headlight cluster.
A partial solution is to code the ambers off. They will only come on when you use your blinkers.

This is what I was hoping for, but after watching the video and looking at the pictures in this thread, it doesn't seem like it's going to work out that way. :-(

Curious how a $1677.50 instrument cluster is $8500. Even with coding and programming included in the labor it wouldn't be $8500.

I'm not sure, I am merely regurgitating information given to me. When I picked up the car, there were issues with the headliner, both front pillars, the trim piece on the roof, and the gauge cluster. Maybe the CA meant for everything but I am certain that he said roughly $8,500 for the cluster.

So glad I didn't wait for these changes. I've been enjoying my car big time. It's all about the engine, steering, handling, brakes and sound (especially MPE) folks. That's it.

Exactly... you are purchasing the vehicle as a unit..

not for mirrors..
not for taillights
not for CF panel

As always.. the M version is demonstrably superior to the lesser version.. however some may perceive there is more value in the lesser model as an initial purchase.... however typically the M car is always a better value long term
