Renders - My Vision of the future M2 CS

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
It seems that the spy shots (http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1329532) of the future M2 CS are pretty popular, so I've been having my little bit of fun doing a couple of renders of that car.

My starting point is of course the production version of the M2, and I used styling cues from the Vision GT render from BMW to create my vision of the CS. I also wanted to make a render that is a little bit more distinctive than the regular M2, not only with a front spoiler, but also with an alternate take on the "fangs", again inspired by the vision GT. I believe that the fangs look much better and complete than on the series' version.

BMW render of the Vision GT:

Of course my M2 CS have all the iconic M elements that are currently missing on the "regular" M2 such as a carbon fiber roof and M mirrors. I've also added Carbon Ceramic brakes and some M Performance elements such as the side winglets. The car has also been dropped to give it a better stance.

So here's the result, actually there are 2 results

1st Render: with minimal modification to the front bumper apart from the new "fangs" and front spoiler

This is probably the closest to the production version with an integrated large spoiler. Also since the CS will have the S55 engine, I've put a powerdome on the hood. I've modified the fangs as per the Vision GT and added the 3 small air intakes on the spoiler (element which will be reprised in the upcoming F90 M5). One last thing: I've integrated the angular LCI headlights of the 4 series...

Second render: with deeper modifications to the front bumper

I wanted to give it a look closer to my liking and to the Vision GT concept. The bottom air intakes protrudes into the top of the spoiler and the 3 small air intakes move onto the intake. Also I've given the car a GTS' style carbon hood. The animated gif shows the difference between version 2 and 1.

19/02/2017: Updated with rear view of the car: original car, CS version and animated gif to show the changes.

Modifications are:
  • Carbon roof
  • Wider front and rear track,
  • 20 inch M666 wheels and wider tires
  • Lowered suspension
  • Carbon M performance rear spoiler and side winglet
  • M4 GTS carbon diffuser and titanium exhaust system
  • Carbon M mirror
  • Darker windows
  • Black M2 CS logo and trim

In the second version, if they were to add a power dome, I think the lines going the length of the hood (From the windshield tapering towards the front grille) would be removed or moved further apart. It looks rather constricted in that rendering. Is there any chance you could possibly edit that as well.

Really love the 2nd rendering though. If only some of those M2 CS designers are looking at this.

This was bugging me a little so I will correct that in the next set of renders ;-)

Fantastic job!

This brings back memories of the white M2 renders back in 2015...

I would not mind at all if the M2 LCI looked like the renders!

Well, get prepared for similar LCI lights to arrive later this year...

While I respect your skills I respectfully hope it looks nothing like that. Too much boy faker from the last few years in there. The bedazzled gts being the pinnacle of ugh.

I hope bmw doesn't visually muddy up what seems like a great forthcoming variant. A subtle bumper massage would be more then enough.

Awesome! It's looking good!

I'm curious how you would render the rear with that cow of an exhaust can sitting far below the rear bumper. I really hope that's not how they're going to ship it.

I'm first on the list at my favorite dealer for this car and also willing to give up my pristine comp pack e92 m3 (if I must) to make it happen. I really appreciate the enthusiasm and vision here, thanks for sharing! Sure to be an exciting BMW.

I don't understand the craze with the cs (if it even comes out). The current M2 is a great car and that won't change no matter what engine variant they throw on in the future. Perfectly happy with my car and plan on keeping this bad boy forever.
