Interesting comparison. Looks like the M2 had less fuel too. I wonder if the test was back to back under same conditions. Can't blame for driver error haha.

Strange.... Mine is way faster from 160-200kmh(100-124mph) and beyond. Mine did <11s 100-200kmh(62-124mph) on a very hot day (29degrees Celsius) this one in the vid about 13?!?!
So I think mine is something in the 15s region 0-200kmh.(0-124mph) It pulls through to 240+(150mph) easily.

I only know that the white MPerf Dutch testcar(same licenseplate over and over again in many vids ) is a bit of an abused wh*re sorry to say it.

Cheers

Possibly due to gearing. The M235i has the 8-speed Steptronic. The M2 the 7-speed M DCT.

Would like very much to see this comparison with a M240i, not the (now) outdated M135i

There's always going to be very little between them. It's not how QUICK you get there, but HOW you get there.

M2 is faster to 124mph (~200km/h), but the M235 takes over after that. That's just gearing. Maybe on a speed ring this is helpful.

M235i reached 240 kmph at least a second before the M2. If driven side by side I'm sure the M2 would have been ahead, but looks like the M235i would be catching up to the M2. Very weird.

There have been reviews that indicate the 6MT gearing is better for certain tracks so I agree j come to the same conclusion.

Not a lot of racing happens at 150mph.

Hot Damn.. That's surprising...

Would the ZF-8 have that much influence over DCT with overall HP difference? The torque peaked long ago and should be a non factor.

The 2 always felt stronger at the top end than the 235 after a couple of test drives, but it could have been in my head.

But between the huge deposit and the massive wait based on great engineering, beautiful styling and massive demand, and the fact that I get heated seats and other useless crap, I'm really friggin happy after seeing this.

Wonder if the xdrive version would hang with the M2 off the line better?
