I'm not sure what I'm missing here -- but -- to me the M4 is hands down better looking. The M2 looks like a munchkin.

I love the M2 like the rest of you all... However, IMO, there's no compassion to the M4. The M4 is the best model M made thus far. The size is perfect! The proportions are perfect! The stance is PERFECT! The M2 is a crazy, and I definitely appreciate it for what it is, and what they were able to achieve with it, but it's like a Matchbox Micro Machine! (Some of you are too young to know what those are lol). Just for mention, the M6 is great too, but just too damn long. The spirit of an M vehicle, again IMO, has 2 doors. So that cuts out the M3/M5. Not to say they're not relevant for those wanting to transport their families whiles doing 120 on the interstate (lol).
All in all, the M4 is the one! It's the mistress! It's the beer at the end of a long day! It's mature enough to get into any 21 and over spot, while still young enough to see you on the track!!! This comparison really shows its beauty! When you guys are done being hype beasts about the newest M vehicle, and all the dust settles, you'll realize how much sexier she is. Salute to you: M4

Let's call it like it is: both are great looking cars. BMW really has its design mojo flowing. These are great times for BMW fans.

The rear end of the M2 is too high for my tastes. I like the way the M4 rear end slopes downward, it looks more finished than the M2 does. I'd take the M4 personally of those two choices, but the M3 over both.

Agreed

Even if I didn't own a M4, I'd never even consider buying a M2.

Dammit......and here I thought my F80 had the "spirit of an M vehicle". At least it feels that way when I drive it.

Alas, maybe next time.

I swear, it feels like I'm driving an M.............I must be getting old.

I would still take the M4 any day, it's abit like comparing Arnold Schwarzenegger to Dwayne Johnson. Arnold being the M2 not as muscular but still quite strong and Dwayne being the M4, absolute animal and would beat Arnold in any fight. Just giving a bit of analogy

Believe you me...if you have an M, you're driving an M!!! Those engines, no matter what exterior form they come in, are BEASTLY!!!!

I'm simply speaking form a design aspect..

Very hard call but I prefer smaller cars.

M4 wins in the looks department however.

I hope someone's courageous enough to put the M4 front fender air curtain on their M2.

Well damn, surprisingly I like the M2 more than the M4....question is do I like it more than a Cayman for a second car, compelling argument considering performance and price.

I'm just not a fan of the rear end on the M2. The M4 looks classy and aggressive at the same time. The M2 looks like a beefed up Corolla from the rear, nothing really special IMO

Both great looking cars but I have to say the M2 wins for me.

I love the interior of the M3/M4 hands down over the M2. But I've seen many M4's around and its sexy as hell, but just has gotten too big. It doesnt have that same "pull" with me that the E92 and E46 had and which I was lucky enough to own.

Now the M3? Love that vehicle and for me would be an awesome EDD cause I'd like a set of back doors in my next vehicle. In fact, that might be my next vehicle of choice - a CPO one.

M2 for pure driver involvement... I see this as more of a personal car - a daily driver to have fun in

Any higher number M car for going out on the town or for business

If not an M5 or M6GC then definitely Alpina for looking classy

I'd drive Alpina for family and M2 for myself

If the 2 series is too small as it will be to some or those that already have their dream in the 3/4 and the 5 and above too big - well then you have a choice between the M3 and 4

Some will languish about their M235i or 1M which is fine

Sometimes you need to break the mold to get new customers even if it upsets the diehards/enthusiasts which sucks if you have to wait a generation to get what you want - especially with the threat of loosing manual or loss of NA or going electric or then getting shuffled in auto pods or mass transit

M2GC or M240i sedan to come
