Friend: Have you tried HPDE?
Me: No I haven't
Friend: It's the funniest thing you can do with your clothes on.

So that's how this story began. I had a 2015 C7 Supercharged Corvette with a single spray of Methanol. Mainly set up for street and was 601HP to the wheels so I decided to rent a track prepped Porsche Cayman to see if I wanted to go down the path to sell the Corvette.

First day I was hooked so I came home and started calling around to BMW dealerships. Finally got to a salesman that said good luck and gave me the 7 dealerships that still had an allocation left. I wanted a 6sp slick top.

It finally arrived so I drove from NC to GA to pick it up. This was the first pic my wife took for me as I rolled into the drive.

Already made space for it as I sold the corvette for some crazy price where I actually made money.

First track day - Ferodo ds1.11/castrol SRF/Apex 19s with PS4S

These seats are absolutely terrible for track. They push your head forward like no other. It's also pretty tight squeeze with these seats and a helmet.

Most people start modding their car because its an obsession... I started mod'ing because I wanted all of the safety that comes with it. My first purchases were seats/6 points/half cage/fire extinguisher/Hans device. My wife actually loves me and cares if I die so safety gear was a given.

"This is a street car that I take to the track occasionally" which led me to purchase some ohlins road and track+vorshlag camber plates. 70NMM front and 160NMM rear.

Biggest lie I told myself. After a good amount of seat time I decided this will now be a dedicated track build which is where all the fun began.

OG Shark enters the chat...
Met Jason through the forum here and have since peppered him with a million questions. Seriously, if you haven't seen his posts he's extremely helpful and has tried pretty much every combination of parts on his shops BMW M2 which I've heard hurts GT3/GT4s feelings @ COTA.

With OG Shark help I ended up going front and rear AP Racing kit for the brakes. What a huge difference this made. Every instructor that road with me before going solo had nothing but great things to say about the brakes.

Gorgeous build! Is it just the photo or does the Silverado looks like it has a lot of squat.

Love this thread already...

I'm doing the same thing........... with my M2cs. I'm probably an idiot, but I'm a happy idiot!

How do you like your Nogaros? I'm side-eyeing them, or the Misanos.

My current setup:
- Every single suspension arm other than the rear lower camber arm have been replaced with SPL Parts, with spherical bearings
- Rear lower camber arm bearings on the subframe and knuckle replaced with SPL or Fall Line FK bearings
- Steering tie rods replaced with SPL parts sphericals
- DS1.11 pads and SRF fluid
- weighted shift knob with OE shift lever (I like longer throws so it stays as is)
- Michelin PSC2's (255/275) on the OE forged wheels
- Combination of AA EL midpipe with Eisenmann sport rear section, no resonators. Sounds AMAZING.

Winter parts awaiting install for next year:
- TracTive DDA EDC-compatible coilovers
- SPL rear sway bar endlinks (TracTive is supplying their own for the front struts)
- AP Racing/Essex electroless nickel plated BBK front and rear
- M2cs Racing rear wing, with a spare trunk lid, both painted in Misano Blue

Possible mods next year, if I have the itch (and budget):
- Wider wheels and tires
- CS Racing sway bars
- Bucket seats (probably Nogaros) with 4/5 points and a harness bar. Not likely to do a cage, but who knows

I truly hope it’s not that. Otherwise it should be an autoban. That is the stupidest trend that inbred dumbasses have come up with.

Damn Chevys can’t even handle the massive tongue weight of an open aluminum trailer... cute little toys they are.

They finally made a law against it where it’s a ticket in NC. Thankfully!

I enjoyed the nagaros when I was driving it to and from the track. It was a great compromise. I have halos now and much prefer them.

My wife keeps asking about all the boxes stacked in the garage. Taking the new parts to the shop tomorrow. Also, grabbed an aluminum hood already painted white.

It does. The shop said they've seen two crankhub failures and both of them were on 6MT. Both of the customers said the same thing. They were downshifting when in when kaput.
