This is what I use and it seems to help a bit - but also as others have said, if you grab the belt from the bottom rather than over the shoulder, it's much easier to reach.

See the following image. This is obtain from the 2020 M2C Owner's manual. Page 91.

I've never used it though, I just reach for it using my right hand (My car is RHD) when it is handing on the b-pillar. I'm quite flexible however.
You live you learn. I thought it was a stupid design oversight, a part that doesn't fit properly, the first couple of weeks of owning my M2C.

Re pn 52 30 2208036: agree it's a waste of money. I bought 4 of those at one go one day for different cars a couple of years ago, all broke like the next day.

On the subject, it's my third coupe so I've long forgotten to think of it as an inconvenience. I just reach down with my left hand (LHD). Now that it's being discussed I remember how that seemed odd the first time.

Has anyone considered some flexibility training? The B-pillar on the E46 is significantly further back relative to the seat, making the M2 seem easy.

I'm shocked no one has suggested coding easy seat entry. With the seat further back it's easy to reach if you use your right arm. Click in the belt then press the ignition and the seat moves forward.

What is so difficult about this. Every two door car I've owned has been this way.

Sheesh.

Geez, hate to bring this thread back up but noticed something. I always left hand grab the belt and strap in BEFORE closing the door. So simple, just realized that's how I almost always do it.

^^^^No kidding. There ought to be a test before allowing people to by cars.

You gotta realize: The average person has average intelligence or critical thinking skills. But then there's half the population that is below that :

The natural resting location of the seatbelt is way back at the B pillar, and when you're in a proper driving position (I have my seat positioned like my track instructor educated me to, elbows 50% bent, knees bent, for maximum ability to engage wheel/pedals with your muscles and stay mentally engaged, it ends up being a lot closer than all the fully leaned back, wrist over top brotards haha).

Previously in my BRZ, it had a little leather strap that snapped to the upper side bolster to hold the seatbelt within easy reach. This car seems to be in need of something similar.

Do you all just pull your side muscles to turn around and grab it, or have another solution?
Doesn't the comp have a plastic tab that holds the seat belt?

I'd say that the majority of the current population came from the shallow end of the gene pool.

The problem with this is my seatbelt fastener, the plastic-metal piece, always gets stuck between the seat and the door.90% of times. Then you have to let it go, and try again, more carefully and slowly. Extremely annoying.

My M2C has that seat belt "holding" feature, I always thought it's just bad design Tried it now ... yes it will hold the seatbelt, but it doesn't help with problem I described above

I actually made something to address this. Have been running them for over a year now and they work well. If there's demand, I can make more.

Please add a couple of photos without the seatbelt being held in position.

A PIA for some yeah. Definitely hard to do seat belt while driving a 6MT. A minor ' quirk' (sorry deMuro) considering how great this lil M car is. The F87 is not the greatest ever at anything. But man she sure is a fun good time girl despite tiny annoyance.
