That's double the amount of M3CS, which sat on lots for over a year. I think there are still one or two new ones available in Canada.

I'm hoping to pick up a left-over M2CS in summer of 2021

First deliveries in June.
All bad news..especially the price even considering the lower depreciation due to limited numbers production. Hardly worth it imo.

Also, the Benelux thing seems really really weird. Makes no sense at all when you look at market size.

"In terms of total sales volume for combined M and M Performance sales, Australia is currently placed fourth worldwide.

The latest figures offered, to the end of March and showing actual retail sales versus registration data (as used with the local VFACTS system), place the United States well out in front (7703), with Germany next (5497) and the United Kingdom close behind (5087).

Australia's position as the fourth-biggest M market in the world is based on 1143 total M-branded retail sales for the first quarter, just ahead of Switzerland on 1131 and Canada on 1116."

Which doesn't make sense since the depreciation is less on the M2 over 3 years than the M3 M4, so the residuals should be better. Not just from an absolute perspective, but percentage as well.

Yeah, no kidding, but I guess in the car business there are plenty of times when leasing "economics" makes no sense (i.e. car makers trying to move product)...like last year at this time when you could lease an M3 CS (with MSRP over $100k) for about the same or less as an M2 Competition ($62k MSRP). Truly a bit crazy.

Germany has a large piece of the pie. Other regions I expect to get allocations would be middle East, Mexico, Asia, and South America. I thought I read somewhere that the Philippines were expecting allocations. China and Japan?

If we are considering the US rumored number, we are looking at 1649 total. Only 551 left at that point.

My suspicion is that a lot more than 350 to 400 are going to be dumped into the US market. I'm thinking 800.

I would expect you're right, in the event the US has the requisite demand. I would imagine these numbers will be fluid as BMW figures out where the CS is going to sell easily and in the greatest volumes.

Perhaps the US getting 500, has been bumped to 750, with the extra 250 coming from DE?

Hm, would BMW dare to walk the Ferrari 'limited edition' route when demand outstrips the 'official' production limit ?

"399 Enzo + 1 for the Pope" is the official Ferrari tag line. However...

"How many did you say?
As for being one of 400 built, thanks to historians like Gerald Roush of the Ferrari Market Letter, a well-known member of the serial number swapping group to which I belong, we have confirmed records on 446 Enzos to date, and the list is growing. This is obviously well over the official number of 399 plus 1 used by Ferrari.
How can this be? Very simple; Ferrari is a “for profit” organization, and once the development and production costs of the Enzo were paid for, each extra car delivered at $650,000 or so had a very large profit margin built in. Add a lot of wealthy and well-connected owners who were miffed that they were not on the lucky list of 400, and you have a burgeoning market making wealthy clients happy by making “extra” cars. So much for the one of 400 myth…."

(source: here - see also here and here)

"I'm up to 501 Enzo serial numbers, and have it on good authority that between 520-540 were built."
"My count does not include those cars whose VINs were re-assigned to brand new Enzos that were dubbed as "repaired" when they were really replacements. So, I guess you can add another, say, half dozen or so to the list if you count those as well."

It is peculiar that the dealers whom are offering me the cars are all offering me April/May production slots, which if you are planning to make more is a rather intriguing thing.
Interesting development... If you missed out at your dealer, make sure to run back and see what they say. You might be able to pick one up, with discount even!!! No premiums here in Europe, but decent double digit discounts for the M2 CS.
This is something I did not expect. I was really thinking that they had a hard time getting rid of them, because of the hefty price tag. Time will tell what the real reason is, but it is interesting to see that out of nothing slots and cars are being offered.
Oh and for your information, I won't get one myself. My M2C is getting new brakes next month and some other things done. In a few months time, mine has all the CS parts I fancy, is lighter, handles better and offers better performance.

With M2C models flying out of the dealer at like low 50's, I am like why oh why would you buy a M2 CS which seems to be not limited and produced as much as they can in Leipzig.
MR
MR., did you get confirmation from two separate sources that BMW canceled the '2200 cars' limit for the M2 CS ?

Lucky Canadians just got their CS configurator:
https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1670651

The Canadian price starts at $97,750. My quick Google assistant conversion to US dollars is $73,549. Apparently the price varies by Province.

They may, but I doubt the profit margin is anywhere near large enough to cause BMW to make more than previously mentioned. What's the current profit margin on an M2, less than 10%? A regular 911 has a profit margin of almost 50%, the Enzo's margins were probably INSANE even compared to the current 911. They very well could make more 2200, but the demand would have to be exceptionally high.
