Thanks for the video! I had a feeling the M2 wasn't very fast. I test drove one a couple months back and dare I say it felt the same/tad slower than my Z4M Roadster. Looked at the $60k sticker and just shook my head.

Saved me some money though, more years in the Z4M ahead!

If going as fast as humanly possible in a straight line is for you then buy a Bugatti?

They really should have put a better engine in the M2. N55 is not worthy.

M4 was in the wrong gear it should have pulled right away from the roll.

If they put the S55 in a brand new $50k car who’s buying the brand new $70k car? (the M4)

A lot less people.

The car has a purpose and it suits it quite well. The car was made to roam around a track, something it does really well.

Only thing that surprised me about the video.

The M2 should be the slowest in a straight line. Though DCT would have helped it a little and his 0-60 in 5.2 seconds is amongst the slowest I’ve seen.

An ///M car shouldn't get taken by granny in her Camry. Just saying.

Haha is your M4 insecurity flaring up? They have some ointment for that it does wonders for the body roll and the general floating in a boat like feel.

Your goal is to be able to go fast in a straight line. Some people want to actually be able to take a corner or two.

Most M2 owners have the option of buying a barely used M4 for the same price as a new M2. It’s not all about straight line speed. That’s all I was trying to say.

The M4 should have been faster on the roll. I wonder if any of the DCT cars used launch control off the line. I don't think I hear any cars bouncing off the LC limiter. I am a little surprised about the M2. It felt much faster when I drove one.

I have a Z4M coupe and a M2 would slaughter it. My S54 M coupe slaughters the Z4M as well. I don't think any of the three were ever meant to go fast straight.

Since we have a new M5 being released, is there any word on a new 6 series? Or is that hype being over taken with the news of the 8 series?

I'm sorry, I forgot to mention I liked nothing from the M2 over my Z4M except for the snazzy blue stitching. Obviously straight line speed isn't much of a concern to me if I'm still in love with my Z4M, hah.

Z4M is a beautiful car and you SHOULD love it. But please don’t talk about fast and Z4M in the same sentence. Unless we are talking about 2007 fast.

Actually. I take that back. I loved reading all of the journalists who called the M2 the best M car since the ....Z4M.... or was it the e46?

Now I’m just trolling. I’ll stop now and reiterate nothing surprised me about this video.

Uggggghhhhh.....Still haven't gotten an M car. In Colorado, I've got the 340 w/ MPPSK and xDrive.....but I'm thirsty for more.

Probably a couple of years before I'll make the move, but torn between an M2 and M3. I love videos like this, but I'm wondering how the M3 and M4 perform against each other. Same engine, but weight & handling differences of note? I love teh utility of having a sedan, but I've been considering an M2 and a winter-beater truck.

There are many professional reviewers out there that state that the M2 is the best current M car. If you want to be the fastest in a straight line, then you shouldn't own a BMW.
