Do buyers really have such strong preferences when it comes to a choice between two discontinued tires ??

Either way you slice it, the tires that come on the M2 are like getting an iPhone 5 when the iPhone 7 just came out ..

Interesting turn of events for M2 buyers. A little pricey but hell...'ya can't take it with you and if that's what a customer will (and can afford to) pay, then so be it. But I agree with the few who questioned the choice of an otherwise standard M colour. Go big or go home lol! That Speed Yellow pic...

About what exactly? The allocation or the individual paint? I'm assuming that you meant the latter.

That is why it is so expensive and time consuming.

Who ever it is in the US, they are getting one awesome color on their M2!!
I don't believe this for a second.

And I wouldn't want an individual color if that was the process.

It would be more likely that the body in white is shipped to the painters then shipped back to the assembly plant.
I don't have any information about this situation, but this poster understands the technical realities of the painting process.

The price is lunacy. What's the point, it doubles the cost of the car, we'll see if the $26k increases the performance!
I'm really thinking about the potential of a wrap. In light of this, it starts to sound economical.

Yeah the price is insane! Would definitely do a wrap or paint else where.

People pay for what they want. It's the same reason people pay above sticker for sought after cars. It's all lunacy, but there's a market for it. It's not about performance, it's about having something that very few people have, and if that means an Austin Yellow M2, then so be it. People spend thousands upon thousands modifying a car that they just spent +/- $75,000 on, and a lot of the time those modifications really have nothing to do with performance.
