Armrest phone cradle - boring question
Hey guys,
Collecting my M2C in a week or so but I also need to order a new mobile phone. About to pull the trigger on an Apple 11 Pro Max - I know the M2 1st gen couldn't accommodate the larger handsets in the armrest cradle, but that there's a great "hack" with a 3D printed part which can be retrofitted to extend the length. Did anything change on the M2C with the many interior changes? Did BMW wake up and acknowledge that there are now lots of phones larger than an iPhone 5?!? Thanks Spencer |

Honestly, that thing sucks. It's really slow to charge and it makes your phone really hot. I use a cable charger in mine.

Do you have a long commute? I just leave the device in my pocket. The battery life on this new green phone is remarkable and if using CarPlay it uses the car's GPS so no drain there. The BMW implementation of CarPlay is very good this way.

You can remove it. I would not bother with the mod as it just heats up your phone and slowwwwly charges your phone. Get a vent or cup holder solution.

I found the wireless charger to work the best when having the phone placed backward (i.e. the lightening port is towards the front near the blue indicator light). And make sure it is centered as well. My iPhoneX charges at a speed similar to my home wireless charging stand

I gave up trying to leverage that thing. Even thought about getting a smaller phone JUST so I can use it, but screw it. I'm used to 6.3" phones, lol.
I definitely want to remove mine. Let me know if there's a good write up of it. |
