Suspension knock with winter wheels

Hello

Currently experiencing some noise in the front passenger strut

Going over speedhumps and adding steering input (right, in the direction of travel) sometimes generates a "Ptwooooing" sound.

Also experiencing some slight steering creak in low speeds.

Anyone have any idea?

Öhlins, New Top mounts (2021-06-01) and problem free before swapping to winter wheels.

I have removed the wheels once -> cleaned hub and rim surface -> 140nm torque to lug nuts

**** RESOLUTION******

So the problem occured with winter wheels being fitted

The dimensions of the winter wheels (235/40r18+255/35r18) changed the rake of the car decreasing the tension on the front suspension allowing for movement.

Now if this problem only arises with customs spring rates or no is a different question.

Edit:

I'll add that the front passenger needed a lil' extra preload to avoid spring movement.
I also torqued down the locking ring afterwards

Do you mean the rear was sitting lower than the front (compared to OEM)? What's the OEM ratio?

So your Winter front tires are 16mm smaller, while the rears are 42mm smaller.

It may be that you have bigger problems...

How so?

16mm and 42mm are a huge difference in diameter compared to the summer tires. Generally +/- 9mm is the acceptable maximum. Or are these studded?

Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3, hard core snow tire but not studded. As grippy as can be in snow and on ice.

I also have a set of wintercontact from Continental, just doesn't cut it for me. That second set is 235/35R19 square. Squiggly back end, terrible grip. Downright scary tires.
