BMW's design department has clearly been infiltrated by saboteurs. What an abomination. You would have to pay me to drive that thing.

Another disappointment after they said BMW will get a standalone M model. Yeah. Well. FKU BMW...

People made memes about the grill and I was like 'nah that will never happen'. Only for BMW to stab me in the back...
BMW fans gets M3 and M4 with a manual while Mercedes fans get a 4 cylinder hybrid C63, and soon an M4 CSL with over 100kg weigh saving. BMW fans get a smallish coupe with a manual transmission which is the future M2. People love to ignore the good BMW does.

The new "iconic" grill lights is probably the LED trim around the grills in the teaser.

Someone needs to photoshop this teaser with the contrast ratio to see if there are any Easter eggs? Maybe Markus Flasch gave us one gift before he departure?

As I had two recent X5M's (F85 and now a '21 F95 ZCP), I'm probably the demographic that BMW is targeting with the XM. Not sure of my interest until the production model starts next December.

I was always ordering a G83 despite the grill backlash and the pre-production leaks.

Point is some BMW customers stay loyal to the brand and embrace new design. There isn't an other brand for me, that BMW has me ordering 2 cars every 3 years on the leasing cycle.

This is so ugly makes me want to sell my e92 m3 just to not be associated with bmw. I'll never buy a new bmw again.

The funny part is as soon as car come to the market BMW will offer a black grill option for couple of hundred dollars to cover it up!

It's the Technology you don't need a large presence for a tiny LED's but again why a huge grill for an electric car ?? It don't have combustion engine so it doesn't need to cool things down … unless it's all for visual

Because those are the outliers. I remember times where I'd walk into a BMW dealer and wish I could have one of everything they made. Now? There's one, maybe two I'd consider. There just isn't much that's compelling or exciting coming out of BMW right now. I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels this way. This new XM is terrible and embodies everything that's wrong with BMW right now.

Gotta admire Dukec. Gets heavily criticized for the beaver tooth grille, brushes off the criticism, comes back with an even bigger grille design and an attention catching light stripe wrapped around it. Dude got some serious b…

I think it is for visual. Big cars need big grills. All American SUVs have had huge grills for decades.

No, but for what it's worth, the grille badge does say X///M, not X8///M, if there still was any doubt left

Which begs the question of how the lesser, non hardcore M, M Performance reported version (M45e?) will be named: if "XM" ditches BMW's traditional series number because the XM embodies the pure essence of ///M in an X form, "the most expressive statement in almost 50 years of BMW M", "a unique X for the M brand", it certainly cannot cohabit with a lower-tier version redundantly named "XM M45e". This here is still a concept though, so in theory "XM" could be just a bold statement that will eventually give birth to an X8 production model range with the X8 M sitting on top of the X8 M45e. Or perhaps "XM" will be the name of both the entire model range and the top version itself, and "XM 45e" the name of the lower version.

10000%. I'm about out of my f80 and nothing from BMW is really in the running as a replacement, aside from the F90.
