European Delivery

Just got off the phone with my dealer. I had planned on doing ED and was told early on that it would be possible. However, now they are telling me they can no longer do ED. Something to do with it coming out of their allocations from which they do not receive incentives. Understandable.

However, I've seen posts here and there about getting an M2 w/ED and at least one confirmed with pics. Are these dealers taking a hit?

Thanks.

Every dealer can do ED on an M2. It's their choice not to.

I am sure this is a case of the dealer not wanting to sell a car at Euro delivery pricing that they can sell easily at U.S. MSRP. Its a bummer but I do understand why they would be hesitant from a profit perspective, having said that if they did Euro delivery anyway my guess is they would earn a customer long term.

My dealer has received an allocation but has not been able to place an ED order yet. I am status 74 and waiting waiting for an order number. Anyone else out their get an order number for an ED this allocation? I presume it is possible and have been told it can be done. I am just waiting for confirmation.

I offered US MSRP, still no go.

The reasoning you're being given sounds like them not wanting to sell it at the ED prices or go through the extra effort to do the ED paperwork.

I saw an M2 being delivered when I was at the Welt a few weeks ago. It doesn't make sense that BMW would change it's mind like that.

As I stated above, this has nothing to do with BMW. They offer ED for every M2. It is the dealer who is not willing to do it, that decision falls squarely with them.

To the OP: you can always give BMW NA a call and ask them why your dealer is refusing ED. I'm sure they'll love hearing that.

My wife and I are doing an ED for her M2 on July 12. I started looking for a dealer that would do one for ED MSRP in September of last year. It took a lot of emails but I found a dealer that would do it. Granted, the dealer is 850 miles from me and four States away... but that is all part of the experience.

I put a deposit down three week ago for a MY 2018 M2 ED. By then, any issues should be resolved and the first 18 month frenzy will have past. IIRC, MY 2018 is an LCI also.

We all hope so! But who knows... This car may be performing and being produced exactly as intended by BMW...

When putting a deposit on your MY18 did you negotiate any pricing for ED or M performance parts? When is MY18 expected to be delivered?

I am putting the finishing touches on my M2 my current lease expires Sept 2017, I am being told 2017 cars will be delivered starting August 2017. But would prefer to get a MY18 if they are being delivered next year

MY17 cars are being built starting July 2016 (August 2016 delivery).

By the time August 2017 rolls along, those will be MY18 cars.

Awesome thanks for the insight! When purchasing did you negotiate any additional parts or ED?

Nope. Nobody is budging on the MSRP.
