By the time I order my M2 I'd hope there's a sunroof option for the USA. The only way to get a sunroof now would be to get a custom order approved. I'm pretty sure BMW will approve a custom order if the correct channels are followed. There were a few preproduction M2s in the USA with the sunroof and the rear center armrest with cup holders. The 40/20/40 rear folding seats and center armrest with cup holders is another option I wish was available for USA customers.

No modern street BMW is track ready. They all need aftermarket pads, aftermarket high temp brake fluid and usually camber plates to be track ready. I bet you could even boil the brake fluid and lose the brakes with hard laps on a M4 GTS even with the CCB.

M2 sunroof
I've had my M2 since 9/23. I've had a sunroof in my last (3) 3-series and would have ordered if it was an option, but I can say that not having it really isn't that big of a deal after all since driving the M2 keeps you entertained in other ways. As a side benefit if you're really tall, there is a lot of headroom in the M2. if you really want a sunroof and can accept the trade-offs, the M240i is you're only option. BTW, checking all the options boxes on the M240i to configure it somewhat similar to all the standard items in the M2 brings the cost much closer.

Even if the option was available, it would again in my opinion add another cloning closer to a M3/4..the advantage of the M2 is twofold, price down to a minimum and a true sports bmw...the lines of the car are so nice, a sunroof would ruin it..as well as possibly effect ultimate performance.

Why would you want a sunroof on an M-Car? Thats what the M240i is for. M240i is a great car for every day driving, you can get it with a sunroof and a stick shift. The one saving grace on modern M-Cars is they don't have sunroofs. The e30 didn't, 1 series M didn't, M2 doesn't. All other had them, and to their detriment.

Pretty sure you can get one in a 911 right? Seems that car can wipe the butt of any M car made today (and just talking the S, not even the turbo). edit: My point here, is that today's M cars are not that "special". They are not some crazy drop everything and focus only on performance (with the exception of course of the M4 GTS - which still lost to the 911 S in terms of track performance on a recent MT test). So let's call a spade a spade and at least allow the option of the sunroof - because honestly, these are not track focused cars.

Had a sunroof in the m3. For people in the colder areas, it's a great option to crack a bit of fresh air without freezing your face or hands off. I'm a huge fan of the looks when it's simply tilted. Never had it open all the way though. I hate the look of the shark fins on the top.
