I would take the $5250 plus you get to build a new 235i and buy it at $1,000 under invoice with no dealer fees.

I counter offered $7,500. He called me again and said he could do $7,500 if I pick one of the lot, but he does not have the color I want. I told him that I would build one, but that was a no go they would only give me $5,250 if I did that. I paid $57,325 for the M2 and the new M235I is almost $53,000
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Keep the M2!

And even after paying you $7.500 he will still make a profit. Do you need the money that bad, then sell your M2. If not keep it, enyoy it.....you only live once!

Well, you bought an M2 to replace the M235i. Why would you go back without making a substantial profit? That offer he made was not good enough IMO.

I'd give him the M2 in a heartbeat with a commitment for his first allocation of his next one. Then you get the cash and only do without for a couple months.

I'd keep the M2 all day on that offer. Those cars are easily obtained and the M2 is very hard to get. Not to mention you already had one. Why on Earth would a small sum of money convince you to go back?

IMO buy what you want and keep it forever. When I buy something it is MINE. Any offer to purchase would have to be ludicrous for me to accept it. When I buy a car it is because that is what I want more than anything. Not for some financial reasoning. That reasoning is for Civics and Corollas.

Would that even cover the taxes paid on the M2 plus the new car? Don't think you'd even be ahead at all financially once all was said and done.

This seriously. Why did you even consider it? Do you not like the M2? And why would you want an M235i when the M240i is RIGHT around the corner? OP you're weird man.
