Yes it seems like US MY16 will have low numbers .... for whatever that is worth.

8 more M2's added to the VIN production list today.

I think they might stop adding MY16 VINs early next week. It takes about 2 weeks for the car to go from start to end of production. Maybe they can streamline it to 8 days?

Thus it would seem that a MY16 M2 the build should start by June 16-17 to end by June 30. MY17 for any vehicle production ending in July, even if started in June? Then again who knows what BMW will do.....

My dealer told me that ONE dealer in the entire country got a 2017 M2 allocated to them this month. Does that plant shut down in July?

Because as I already stated a few days ago in my small hometown (<30,000 inhabitants) there are already 5!!!(incl mine) driving around....

He's full of shit. That would mean ONE M2 for July, August, September build dates for the entire country which is unlikely. We are all expecting to hear more about MY17 by Friday.

Maybe shipping is quicker to your area? remember there is a 4-6 week delay for vehicles to get stateside and on the road.

March < 40 us cars built. Jan, Feb (probable all hea vehicles), April, and May about 115 per month produced. Perhaps in March more EU vehicles were produced????

I am sorry but I have only been able to track the North American VIN numbers.

I started this based on my M2 VIN # and Artemis' original post on the 330 preproduction VIN #s then randomly putting in sequential vin #. I am about 80% done getting ALL the North America MY16 data options etc. Should then be able to list # of each color and canadian cars , dct vs mt, exec package etc.....

As I mentioned earlier there are some individuals and an occasional sunroof!!. Which cannot be ordered in the US for MY16.

The NA VIN#'s jumped quite a bit. from V351999 to v785800. I am certain this is accurate because it happened the same production day Jan 26 2016.

The eu VIN's also jumped but I do not know where to! If you can provide an eu vin number maybe it can then be tracked where the jump occurred.

for example: According to Artemis, preproduction eu ends at V353099 then v353100 starts RHD brit version which then ends at V353199. V353200 starts M235i sequence.

So a big thank you to Artemis for finding the 330 preprodution VINS!!!!

From what I understand, the allocations are released at the beginning of the month for ordering in that month. So BMW of Minnetonka (sp) got the sole order slot for June. Not sure why you think that means July/Aug/Sept - and he was looking at the system and just as shocked as anyone..

I'm secretly hoping that they are holding back because maybe, just maybe we will get the same things our friends up North are getting (Carplay and Sunroof).

I took delivery of my LBB 6 speed manual on May 6th. I had the first allocation at my dealer, it was not an HEA car.

I don't think that is what happened. I only glanced at the first thread and saw that it was amended. Ask your dealer to check

He just checked again today (and sent me the screen shot) - only one right now. Quite possibly he just didn't like being called full of shit...

Yeah I saw. 25 isn't a very large number if it's 3 months of production for MY17 for the entire US. Those also seem like they are MY16 allocations so perhaps BMW didn't add them before to the master list?
