Tyres For High Mileage

Does anyone have any thoughts on tyres for high mileage? Road use the M2 rarely has the opportunity to lay the power down; especially in rush hour.

What's a decent choice for high mileage whilst maintaining an acceptable level of grip?

I have Michelin PS4's and believe it or not, I have 52K miles on the fronts (now in the yellow tread zone) and about 30K on the rears (also in yellow).

The key to this mileage imo (I obviously don't track the car) is keeping the air pressure high.

I run 37PSI all around and closely monitor it.

However, when I finally *do* replace the Michelins, I'm going General Tires.

Why? Consumer Reports rate them as high as the Michelins and my guy Rudy at Tirerack.com said that they are good tires and most importantly, like $770 for a set of 4.

For that kind of price - I'm giving Generals a shot.

Try Michelin A/S 3+. Great in the rain and much better wear than PSSs or PS4s.

Thanks tranck, wow that's a lot of miles out of the Michelin's. I bought the car with 5k miles about 8mm of tread, now on 10k & I have around 3-4mm tread, won't be long & I'll need some new tires.

Encouraging news with the Michelin's so thanks for that.
