M2 Carbon Fiber - Fair Price?
I just bought a low mileage 2018 M2 with the OEM carbon fiber front and rear winglets. I really don't need them and prefer the look of the car without them.
Would like to sell them - what is a fair price to ask? Looks like the rear set is about $700 new and I cannot seem to find pricing for the front. Would $700 for both sets including shipping be a fair price? They are in perfect/near perfect condition so they must have some value to someone.... Thoughts? |

Congrats on your new (or new to you) car.
If they are genuine MP parts: Front: https://www.getbmwparts.com/oem-part...b3J5IFBhZ2U%3D Rear: https://www.getbmwparts.com/oem-part...ft-51192365985 Do you have any pictures especially how they are attached? I might be interested in the rears. |

They were ordered with the car and are on the window sticker so guessing a factory install and not port installed? I can check tomorrow but would assume they are installed with 3M double-sided tape. |

I believe people previously have said they are installed with betalink, which is nearly impossible to remove without breaking the carbon bits. Not sure if that's done for all of them or not.

Your parts were definitely port installed. You cannot get M Performance parts from the factory. Port installed parts are on the MSRP invoice. I had lots of port installed parts on my sticker price list.

Ok I was able to check and it feels like they are attached with three screws each. I would have my dealer remove them as I don't have the space or patience to do it right. At least in Blue, I like the look of the car without them.

If removal is likely to cause damage to both the car and the items you're hoping to sell (which means it could be difficult to sell the removed items), how much do you dislike them?

Not sure if you'll know for sure if betalink was used until it's too late. Because they come from the factory with strips of 3m tape applied. So after you remove the screws, you're gonna have to figure out if you're tugging on 3m tape, betalink, or a mixture of both.

Thanks to all - I thought they would be just 3M tape or screws - need to do a little more research. |

Having just installed the M performance carbon to my M2c I can confirm that each winglet is held on with five rivets, three screws, 3M tape and Betalink.
The front splitter is held on with rivets, multiple screws and Betalink. Removing them might damage the cars paintwork and probably the carbon too. |

As far as the price for good condition CF parts - it's typically 50% of the new cost. I think the fronts were a bit more than the rears so your price will likely attract buyers.
